Modeus

Alpha Male of the Treis Pack, and mate to Shade.

Coming from an area in the world where it was commonplace for multiple pairs to exist in a massive pack, Modeus is a child of the Alpha pair. His brother was doted upon, as he was chosen as a possible heir to the alpha position when his father passed away. Modeus, on the other hand, was chased out at a relatively young age, forced to fend for himself.

He would not have survived if it weren't for the sympathetic black bear who had been living around this pack's territory at the time. She decided that since she did not have any cubs this season, she had enough time and interest in this relatively young pup to try to raise it herself. He was already pretty big for a pup, so why not? She preferred to travel than stay in one place, and took little Modeus with her, teaching him the skills of observation and hunting. He was not the perfect student, mainly due to his negative outlook on the world due to his own family abandoning him, but he grew strong, becoming an efficient solitary hunter. 

When he reached near adulthood, and his mother bear needed to search for a mate, she had to push him away to find his own female to start a pack. Of course, he did not take it too well, feeling like he was being replaced, but left all the same, knowing he was not welcome to travel with her any longer. 

Meeting Shade was a stroke of luck. While out hunting who-knows-where, Modeus nearly smacked a female wolf his age, whom made him lose track of his prey. At first, he was angry, barking at her how she needed to stay out of his way ad how he had no time for messing around, but her reply, which was straightforward and confident, startled him. Of course, he held her to her words, not believing her promise of prey abundant until he caught many creatures with ease. After that, he held her in high regard, and they occasionally spoke if they encountered each other. 

When they soon became close, Shade decided to leave her home pack to start her own with Modeus, as he wanted to support her and her dreams to become admired by many.
