The son of the herbalist Ghost Eyes, he distinguished himself at a young age with his bravado and willingness to walk where few dare. Apprenticed as a scout under Petrichor, he grew up to win the love of Petrichor's daughter Clear Spring. After Clear Spring became the new leader, he acted as her eyes in far lands, always returning when it was time for their next litter.

Age tempered him a bit, and he acted as a scouting mentor to Clear Spring's younger brother Dragonfly, then to his daughter Phoenix and her mate Blue Moon. Eventually he retired to mentoring, and spent his remaining years teaching generations of pups.

Despite his sometimes-conceited nature, Clear Spring never let him step too far out of line. They were loyal, loving mates for many years, and their daughter Phoenix would go on to become the next leader.
