Biography
Camellia is a popular flower in Japan, though the Japanese word for camellia is tsubaki. Camellia is named after this flower because of her sweet personality and the name of the pack (Kohana) is a girl's name meaning "little flower" so it only seemed fitting to give the founder a flower name.
Camellia is the founder of the Kohana pack, and the first Alphess. She loves flowers, forests, and the smell of autumn. She has a humble yet firm way of leading, never forcing anyone to do anything unless they have to but always doing things with a purpose. She's kind and always tries to be friendly with her pack, and is very affectionate with her mate, Kobayashi.
Her problem was solved when she met a wolf named Ren. He had short white fur and soft yellow eyes, and though he was an older wolf, he was quite friendly. The two banded together to start a pack of sorts, and not long after Ren came back with the small golden pup who would become Elena. The pack truly had no leader at this point, much less a hunting party, and so both Ren and Camellia pitched in their fair share of work.
Eventually, Camellia ran into Kobayashi when she was exploring. Almost immediately, Camellia felt in love with the newcomer. She couldn't really explain why, especially since he just looked like your average wolf. He had no markings, just a earthy-brown coat and alert green eyes. But she saw something special in him, and he must have too, as he returned with Camellia to the unofficial pack grounds.
After some time, the small group of wolves in the Deciduous Forest became a pack as more and more wolves found their way. Everyone unanimously agreed that Camellia should lead, and so she did. Not long after, Kobayashi became her mate and the two had a single pup together, Takara.
After the illness had struck, they settled in the mountains. Both Camellia and Kobayashi were old, and the brown wolf died not long after, leaving a heartbroken Camellia. They had adopted another pup after they got stable in the mountains, and Camellia did her best to raise little Makoa. She stayed by his Kobayashi's grave until the next morning, where she once more began to lead the pack. She knew she didn't have much time, so she wanted to make sure Takara knew how to properly lead a pack before she passed on.
As Camellia got older, Takara proved himself for the role and Camellia was soon reunited with her beloved Kobayashi. Now Takara and his mate Seraphina lead the pack together.

Trees rustled peacefully as a small breeze weaved through the deciduous woodlands. A magnolia colored she-wolf smiled as she exited a burrow under a particularly large tree, and smelled the small white flowers blooming at the base of it.
"Camellia!" A white wolf called. She turned her head to notice Ren, with him being followed by a small golden pup, who was named Elena. "Good morning!" He chimed. Camellia smiled at him. "Good morning Ren! How is Elena doing?"
"Quite well!" He replied eagerly, nuzzling the pup. "We are off to go to the lake, now that she's strong enough, I'm going to teach her to swim!" Ren paused, then nodded. "Has Kobayashi returned yet?"
"That's good to hear." She replied with a somewhat disappointed smile at his second question. "And unfortunately not, he's been scouting since yesterday."
"I'm certain he'll return soon. He always does. Well, c'mon Elena, let's go to the lake!" Ren said for a final time before picking up Elena and setting off.
Camellia heard a rustling behind her and a brown wolf stepped out from the woodland brush. "Kobayashi!" She cried with a smile.
He gave a small grin, despite his rather pessimistic personality, and then he gave her a nuzzle. "Hello to you too, Camellia."
"Someone's been wanting to see you." Camellia replied with an excited look. Kobayashi looked a bit confused but followed her to the burrow. Crawling in, the stoic brown wolf's face softened as he noticed a mewling brass pup placed gently on some moss.
The alpha pair gathered around the newborn pup, and the forest once more rustles gently.

[ Song Title ]
Camellia was born to a large pack, to the herbalist. Her father had died before she was born in a fight with a bear, leaving her mother with no family besides her for company. In the pack she grew up in, she was neither of high or low status; her birth pack was led by an alpha, a lead hunter, and an herbalist would provide advice to the pair.
Her mother, the pack's resident herbalist, expected much of her. She would teach Camellia all the herbs, remedies, and drill it into her daily. As a pup, Camellia loved, "playing with the flowers," as she thought it was. However, as she grew older, Camellia began to feel overworked and disenchanted with the idea. But she continued with a servant's heart, not wanting her mother to feel sad or alone, especially after the death of her father.
When she grew to adulthood, her mother gave her what she thought was great news. She would officially become the herbalist's assistant! But she didn't want to become the herbalist. She simply wanted her mother to be happy. Camellia tried to explain her sentiments to her mother, who only grew more annoyed and angered.
That night, Camellia did what she never would have thought. She fought with her mother. Not just words-- snarling, biting, and tearing-- as the argument grew in intensity. Camellia, weaker and inexperienced, lost the fight. Tears of indignation welled in Camellia's eyes, and she sprinted off into the woodlands. She would never see her mother again.
Having never been too far from pack territory, Camellia immediately got lost and seemed to jump at any sort of sound. She was relatively young, and had never been on her own before. She was used to the company of others and felt unsafe all alone.
Camellia struggled to survive, often going hungry since she had never been properly taught how to hunt, or chased off from the best spots to rest in by larger, more fearsome predators. She attempted to join a few other packs but many were distrusting of the stranger.
Thankfully for Camellia, a friendly face showed up to help. He was an average looking wolf. Normal size, white coat, and about a year and some change older than Camellia. But his yellow eyes shone empathetically, and Camellia knew she could trust the traveller.
His name turned out to be Ren, and he was a friendly fellow. Ren became a mentor of sorts to Camellia, teaching her how to hunt small prey and where to make temporary densites. She felt indebted to the white wolf, but he merely chuckled and insisted that Camellia did not need to be. Still, the future alphess never forgot all the things he had done for her.
As time passed, the two still sought out packs but to no avail. Deciding that they would just have to find a place to make their own pack, Camellia looked tirelessly until she settled on a small clearing with a large tree in the center. There was an old, dilapidated house as well, so there was no doubt in her mind that humans had once lived here. Although she initially had her doubts on the safety of the place, Camellia and Ren resolved to stay-- keeping clear of the human abode, however.
Ren and Camellia worked together and eventually established the territory for the future pack. While scouting, she often ran into wolves. One of these wolves was Kobayashi, a large brown wolf with mossy green eyes.
Camellia sensed that he was a lone wolf, and offered him a place in the pack. Although he was skeptical at first, Kobayashi agreed to join. She found his pessimistic personality to be intriguing, as it was a stark contrast to her own. The two were surprisingly close, even if Kobayashi left for days at a time. They became mates to the surprise of many.
Ren also had brought back a wolf he would grow close to, a small golden pup named Elena, acting as a father for her. The four wolves soon found themselves with a growing pack, and everything seemed to be well for a while. Camellia became the alphess of the Kohana Pack, officially establishing it, even if some doubted her as a proper leader.
But life was not without trials. Her first test was with a wolf named Keihi, who had given birth to the first litter of pups. In the litter of three, only one had survived, and Camellia began to notice her abusive behavior towards Tāmerikku. She was concerned but uncertain of what to do; she explained the situation to her mate, and thankfully, Kobayashi didn't hesitate and banished Keihi from the pack.
Things began looking up for everyone, however. Camellia and Kobayashi had their pup that winter, who would be named Takara. A wolf named Kabocha had joined, and cared for everyone who would fall ill from influenza that winter. It seemed that nothing could drag the pack down.
For many seasons afterwards, life was relatively easy and peaceful. The pack swelled in numbers and the forest was safe. Ample amounts of food, no rivalries-- all was well.
Things began falling apart when Ren died. His death was peaceful, but a painful milestone that the pack would not live forever. It struck her particularly hard, as Ren had always lended her a paw when she needed it. Kabocha would also pass away not too long after, another hit to the pack's morale.
Despite Tāmerikku's experience, that spring a mysterious illness came over the pack and killed almost everyone. There were few who didn't fall ill and perish-- only Camellia, Kobayashi, Elena, Tāmerikku, and Takara would survive. Kobayashi led them to the mountains, taking the fleeing group to a harsh, unfamiliar environment.
It was a hard adjustment. Where food was once plentiful and snow only dusted the paws, food became scarce and the snow engulfed a wolf. Nobody was used to the sheer cold of the mountains, and spent most of their time huddled in a cave. Dinner was whatever Elena managed to catch or what morsels Kobayashi could turn up.
While scouting one day, Kobayashi returned with an orphaned pup, and Camellia adopted him without a doubt. Makoa was his name, and Takara became rather close with him, even if he acted aloof to the little guy.
