Cukilanarpak

Cu was promoted to herbalist upon the sudden death of her sister, Mato.  She had studied for many years under her sister’s guidance, though it was expected that one of Mato’s puppies would take over anyhow.

But for many years Mato worked hard for the pack, crafting the remedies they needed.  She didn’t have much time or use for love, and the right wolf just never seemed to come along. When she finally did choose, it was so late into her life that none were sure she would have a pup make it to adulthood before she joined the Deep Forest Pack of the Lands Beyond.

The day she weaned her pups, she stepped away from their care to go make salves in preparation for Kiana’s final Lunar Realms walk.  Cu stayed behind to watch the pups, as she was the assistant and did enjoy pups, having never had any of her own.

When Mato did not return the next morning, Cu grew worried.  Leaving the pups with the pack Mentor, Dark Star, she went to the grotto where Mato made her medicines.  She found her sister slumped over a pot of healing salve, her paws still stained with the green and milky sap of the dandelions, claws black with charcoal.

She whined a death prayer to her sister, then yelped the gathering song of her people, alerting Kiana that there would be a burial howl to plan in the eve.  And finally, she went to the bear, Herbert.  The pups were still too young.  She would train one in Mato’s stead.  But until then, there was much work to be done—

First diagnosis: Open Wound on one of the Hunt Group 1 wolves - You paid 17 SC. Herbert shows Cukilanarpak how to check for various symptoms, while Cukilanarpak watches intently.

First on her own diagnosis: Infection in Riza Hawkeye-You paid 13 SC. Herbert checks for symptoms, asking Cukilanarpak to give her opinion on what could be wrong. Cukilanarpak makes a guess and Herbert seems pleased. They both return with the results, Cukilanarpak seems pleased with herself.
