Biography
She was found by Serapis, during one of his adventures to other biomes. She had caught his eye instantly, her distinct merle patches making her stick out from the surroundings. Serapis had instantly asked her if she wanted to return to his pack. She was cautious, but did want to get out of the weather and be around some wolves for more than a night, so she agreed.
In the beginning, she chose to stay with the other wolves Serapis had found on his trips. However, those wolves wouldn’t stay long, choosing to travel to other packs fairly quickly. Some left back to the wilderness. No matter how many wolves were in the cave, she didn’t leave it.
One day, Serapis appeared in the cave. He told the wolf that she should contribute to the pack, as she wanted to remain here. She protested, ever a lazy wolf, but Serapis would not relent. Eventually, she agreed, and he assigned her the recently vacated role of second scout. Hela, the other scout, showed her the ropes, and it was time for her job to start.
She hated it. She had never wanted to be part of the pack, she had just wanted a few days of rest, then go back to her wanderings. She had never wanted such a hard role as a scout, having to wander to far off lands and then back, being given about an hour of rest and then having to repeat the cycle. She felt like she was going mad.
One day, after one of her scouts, she returned to the Deciduous Forest, however she didn’t return to the pack. She encountered another pack, had a night of fun, and returned to her temporary pack the day after. After an impulsive visit to the scrying stone, she discovered she was pregnant with three pups.
Right away, she knew her game plan. Stay and give birth, and see how the other wolves react to her puppies. She knew that being pregnant was a dangerous condition to wander aimlessly in. If the others didn’t care about her pups, then she would take them with her and leave. If they did like them, she would wait until they weaned, and leave them in the pack while she left.
Her old cave was rebranded. Five other wolves had gotten pregnant, and it would be best if they all were in the same cave. The NBW didn’t agree, but nothing she said would sway the others.
She gave birth to three green puppies. At first she couldn’t believe it, but the other wolves around her cooing at the puppies told her this was real. Even Zeus, who wasn’t known for spending time with the newborns, would spend time with her and her pups. She knew her pups would be safe in this pack.
As her pups grew closer to weaning, she realised something. She didn’t want to leave her puppies. So she decided she would stay with them, in this pack. For so long, she hadn’t had a name, as she knew that once she had she would become one of the pack, something she hadn’t desired before. Now, however, she knew she was one of the pack. She named herself Saga.
One day, she did it again!
After scouting, she snuck away to the Taiga, and didn’t return for a few days. After she had returned, and be-lined to the scrying stone, it seemed history would repeat itself, except this time with six puppies. Serapis would have nothing to do with this development, leaving his mate, Chloris, in charge of the scout. Saga slunk, annoyed, to the pregnant’s cave.
Saga did a long night of thinking. The pack was very crowded. Already there was talk amongst the adols of who would be leaving, looking for new adventures. Some of them were torn between not wanting to leave their parents and not wanting to sit around the pack all day. Saga didn’t want her pups to have to make the same decision, so she decided, when the time would come, she’d trust some of her pups with the bear.
***
A Cnitharian and a demon. She called it, that would be her legacy. The former was her first son, Khonsu, a previously green boy who had turned a deep blue on a secret trip to the Dreamlands. The latter was Morana, a black eyed wolf who’s halo appeared after she had weaned.
Saga loved her children. It didn’t matter one was apparently Cnitharian and the other was likely a demon incarnate. They were her’s, and that was enough.
She was also lowkey hoping that her constant laziness wouldn’t be the first thing people discussed after her passing, so her strange children were the perfect distraction.
