(Present Day)
Hi I'm Teak, I'm an omega and the mate of Princess Hope. Hope is the most amazing wolf, she's so brave and fierce. She can be a little demanding some times but that's just her... alpha-ing? It upsets me more that she can't be Queen more than any-wolf, including Hope. She's the first born pup, if it wasn't for the fact that Loki couldn't help to make her when the pack started, she would be heir to the throne. She has the perfect alpha attitude and the drive to grow and expand the pack. I just really think she should be Queen is all, she'd do amazing. ❤️
(The Past)
Teak's first real memory, was of light. Brilliant and golden, shining it's warmth on to his tiny fuzzy face. Then blue, wide and expansive, small creatures drifting in the slight breeze. A feeling started to we'll up inside of him. He didn't notice he was whining until his mother was nudging him away from the opening of the nursery. Why was he crying, he wasn't sad or hungry. He wasn't dirty and he didn't have to 'go go' as mom called it. The feeling would not leave him, no matter how much he tried to focus on eating and sleeping and chasing his tail. Every morning he found himself, plopped down in front of the entrance, just watching the world. What a beautiful place! Was all of the world so beautiful? He was going to explore it all when he got big, every sight, every sound, every smell. He wanted to learn about every creature, even the ones he'd seen the adult wolves eat.
(2 1/2 months)
As he lay, crouched in a berry bush, covered in fox scent from the poo he'd rolled in earlier, he wondered if he'd ever see the creatures he was tracking. 'Rustle, Rustle,' the berry bush started to shake! Teak's heart skipped a beat, a family of deer stepped up to the bush, a mother and two calves. Teak stayed still as stone in an attempt to not frighten them off, he admired their long legs and powerful hooves as they approached. 'Bet a kick from her would be deadly', he thought, watching as mother deer stretched her neck out to a higher, fruitier branch. The calves were adorable, bickering over who got which branch or berry or who got to stand closest to mom. The dappled white across their rumps was a spectacular sight, much like the fur of a scout from his pack. Once they'd had their fill, mom shepherded the calves away. After a little more creature-watching, and making sure the coast was clear, Teak left the bush for a bath in the nearby stream. He couldn't go home smelling like fox poo after all.
As he walked back into camp, the place was in a total uproar, every member of the pack gathered before the alpha, Barrett, his father. Barrett spotted him instantly, "Teak, come pup." Whining slightly, Teak climbed up on the tree stump his father was standing on. Was he in trouble? His father huffed at his whining, "Your not in trouble, you should be for running off again, but now is not the time for scolding. Tomorrow you shall be leaving with the other pups to join a new pack. You will be up, bright and early, to go to the trading center first thing in the morning, no exceptions." Tears filled Teak's eyes as he ran off towards the woods. He would come back before nightfall, even if he didn't want to. He didn't want to leave his home, all the things he loved were here. His parents, his fluffy nest, the big raspberry bush he hid under to creature-watch, all his memories. However, he respected his parents wishes, he would wake up bright and early to say goodbye to everyone, including his beloved mama.
(The Next Morning)
Teak sat on his sale rock, waiting... and waiting... and waiting. It felt like days had passed, wolves coming and going, not even sparing a look in his direction. Why should they he was nothing special, just a common cream wolf, what did he have to offer. He heard commotion from across the plaza. What was going on over there? It had to be more interesting than sitting in one place forever, mind made up he jumped down from the stone and darted across the field, staying low and getting lost in the crowd was second nature for him. Weaving through the sea of legs, he came to the sight of the disturbance. It seemed like two pups had gotten into a squabble. Over what he couldn't begin to know. A female pup, slightly older than him, was on the ground wailing her heart out with a similar scented male pup trying to comfort her. Another female, this time closer to his age, sat on a stump staring off in to the distance. An alpha approached at the pups wailing, she seem less concerned about the two pups on the ground, most likely her own, and more concerned about the pup on the stump. The crowd started to clear as wolves lost interest, slinking away to finish their trading. Teak startled, as the wolf he was hiding behind walked off, whatever had happened was over and he really shouldn't have left his rock. If his father comes back to check on his trade he'll be in so much trouble. Reluctantly he made his way back to that dumb rock, unaware of the curious gaze the no longer wailing pup was giving him. A few minutes later he was shocked to see them again, the pup from the stump trailing behind them, so they had adopted her then. Why were they in front of him now? Surely they didn't want him when they'd already adopted one of the most striking pups here! The alpha looked down at her daughter, "are you sure, Hope?" The cream pup, looked at him intensely, bright blues pierced him with an alpha's gaze, fierce and dominant. A new feeling he'd never felt before came bursting to the surface, the need for this alpha's approval, never before has the need to follow someone been so consuming. Running solely on instinct, he whined and rolled over, exposing his throat and delicate underbelly. For a moment, this seemed to satisfy something inside both pups, then quick as lightning the feeling was gone, leaving two confused pups in it's wake. The grownup alpha seemed to sense something and smiled, "Hey kid, you wanna join our pack or are you just gonna lie there and stare at my daughter with your...er... everything on display?" Her words snapped Teak out of his stupor, quickly rolling over to hide his fluffy belly. What was he, a dog? Why was he rolling over like some human pet, and why did he feel like he'd do it again if she asked? Saying yes was the easiest decision he'd made all month, he just wanted a nap, it had been a very long day. Maybe, if the Pupsitter allowed it, he and Hope could take that nap together.
