Biography
"How did you and dad first meet?"
Highbeam sat and pondered the question for a moment- staring at the night sky above. "well..it was a long time ago I'll tell you that." they chucked as a cool breezed passed in the air and the song of the cicada's filled the silence. "I'm serious! I really want to know." "alright, alright. I'll tell."
It was a bright summer, filled with commotions of angry seagull cries and rocky water shores. "I was not a native to this land- brought here in a tiny ol' crate. stuck on a table at what we called a Human Market-" " like the one we have?" Costello stared at her mother with wide eyes after hearing about a land unspoken. "yes, like the one we have. luckily the Human Market is no more- your father is the reason for its disappearance."
"see, Rosvell, your father, was also stolen from my lands as well and put on the same boat as me. we had our crates across from each other- " her voice became quiet "-tried to keep each other company on the harder nights. it was only a matter of time until we reach the market." Highbeam paused to stare at her child who now held more interest in the story than before, signaling her mom to continue.
"many wolves were bought and sold, their purpose unknown. our supposed destiny. everyday we were scared, not knowing if we were next. it wasn't until one day that Rosvells gate was unlocked; he didn't hesitate to run away. he had every right not to. I spent three hellish nights alone- hoping for his return." "well did he!?" Costello was practically at the edge of her seat desperate for the rest of the story. "well if he didn't come back you wouldn't be here, now would you?" "oh. right." Highbeam chuckled at her when the silly realization set in and continued on.
"now as you might've guessed, Rosvell did come back. and not entirely alone. he had got himself established in these odd lands- With Spirit, Rydel, Nicky, Buck, Apollo and Eagle. him and his pack rushed the humans and scared them off. Rosvell unlocked my crate and took me to safety, he also saved Saber, Ghost and Basil- but this was not without any losses. Nicky had lost her life along with buck, and Rydel had gone missing. and i've been stuck here every since."
"do you like living in here?" an innocent question asked by an innocent child.
Highbeam pondered for a moment, remembering all this packs ups and downs.
"yeah. I do. now lets get you to bed."
