Aiolos

One of the Palestra children, one of those born to the packs of Apis and Sciatháin na Saoirse.

He had always had a decent relationship with his mother. He was the eldest of her second litter, and the second of her children to stay in the pack. Because of this, Palestra considered him her first born son. She took pride in his accomplishments. However, she began thinking of him less and less when he became a better hunter than her. Although slightly hurt, he accepted this.

He was happy being a hunter, choosing not to participate in most drama of the pack.


Ashtoreth was a nice wolf, but he didn't want to be a pairbond. That was the lie he told her. He did believe that she was nice, although she had gone off the rails after Boreas, but wouldn't anyone be?

The lie was that he did want a pairbond, just not with Ashtoreth. Again, went off the rails after Boreas. Also, to pair bond, and probably have children with her, would mean he would be responsible for children who had a chance to be next Pack Leader.

Word around the pack was Ashtoreth wasn't happy that her cousin had been made Pack Leader and not her, despite her being born to the eldest sister and also being born before her cousins. Some thought, if that was true, she could raise her children to challenge Serapis's decision for next Pack Leader.

Aiolos didn't want to have even a chance of involving himself in that.

Another reason, the one he managed to convince himself was the real one, was that Boreas was the only son of Neith, his late mother's late best friend. He and Boreas were close due to this, and he didn't want to risk their friendship by dating his ex. That might become a problem, given the crazy.


He did want a pairbond. He had to remind himself of that, some days. The lies he had told the other hunters were getting to him, much to his dismay.

He had always had a soft spot for Nyx. Their mothers, his Palestra and her's Neith, had been lifelong friends. Both had been born outside the pack, coming into it at a young age, and taking the role of hunter when they grew up.

Aiolos was close friends with Nyx, had been since forever. He wasn't that close with his siblings, the exception being Dalia, and she was always with Andraste, so he spent his free time with the Neith siblings. They got along well, the three often sharing hunting stories, and once Boreas became a mentor, wild pup stories.

Their closeness is what brought Aiolos to ask her to be his pair bond.

He knew he was reaching the end of his days, and wanted to spend his final days with someone. From their talks, he knew that she also wanted to actually be with someone.

Nyx took a few agonising seconds to think over his request. It took a few more for her to formulate an answer. It took even more seconds for her to say her anwer. Yes.

Aiolos correctly guessed that Boreas would feel nothing but happy for the two of them, and Aiolos appreciated the complete lack of hostility.
