Juni

Juni is playing a game call tug-a-stick with three other pups. She is pulling the stick with all her might, but it was not enough and the opposing side won. The pup on her team starts to whimper. Juni places a paw on their back and speaks, "Hey! Its okaii! I felt your strength and I know you are gonna be a big strong hunting wolf in the future!"

Nuzzling Hamat's face, Astri lifts her head to leave. Her brother won't criticize her decision, not openly at least. And any other worries will be soothed, knowing the land is filled with game, the water sweet, and her peace in knowing that this...this decision is the right one. She feels it in her bones and spirit. 

Hamat stays close to her feet. But she catches him staring at a group of pups playing. One of them, the loudest, is encouraging the others around her. 

Astri nuzzles Hamat's cheek. "Is that she-wolf your friend?" 

Hamat eyes droop. His voice shy and soft. "Yes..." 

Astri considers the group of pups and Hamat, her heart full and open and braver than she thought it could be. "Then...shall we ask her to join us?" 

Hamat's eyes grow big, stunned but hopeful. "You want Juni too?" 

She nibbles the fur around his ears and whispers her plan. "You'll need a friend with you on this journey. But if this is allowed? That I'm not sure of...We shall have to ask. And I will need your help."

Steeling herself, she leads the young pup over to his friend. "Excuse me..." Several pairs of eyes turn to hers. Hamat, ducks beneath her legs. "I'm Astri...We are setting out to my home in the South. But we would like to invite you Juni, to join us. The herds are arriving soon in my land. My brother and I lead the other wolves in my territory. They would welcome you if you'd have us. Hamat...?" 

Hamat shyly bumps the pile of silver cones in front of him, scattering more than he'd meant to. "Uhm...That's uhm...65 silver cones....for the elders." 

"Hamat! You found your forever home! Nice, see I told you someone would come for you." Juni was so happy to see that Hamat was going to a new home she forgot that they asked her to come too. "Wait! You want me to come too?" She looked at Hamat who shyly looks down at his paws and then up at Astri. "Wow that would be so awesome! I would be with someone I already know." She stands up and starts to jump from paw to paw wagging her tail. "I want to come with you guys! Thank you for choosing us Astri! I know our future is bright!" (Congratulations, Juni has chosen you! I will set up the trade once she is weaned from her mother)
