Octavian is his father's chosen heir, though he may have a lot to live up to in terms of legacy. Still young and unbonded, he's a young leader struggling to lead and inspire a group of mainly young wolves searching working hard to survive. He's learning to read the land, ward off threats and protect the pack.
Underneath his tumultuous outer layer, he's as ambitious as his father, his plans for the future are tempered by a cool intelligence. Having recently moved the pack from the tundra where they were struggling to make ends meet, he's making a home on the prairie and trying to motivate the hunters and trackers of the pack to work harder and inprove.
Though perhaps lacking the same charisma and natural natural likability that former second Maxim and breeding male Marcus possess, he's intelligent, organized and strong. Aloof and haughty when it comes to females, he's particularly close to Asterios, Cotia's son who he's grown up with. It's difficult to tell if he's interested in bonding with the young hunter, or simply shy and uninterested around females due to his age.
