Biography
[ Dedicated ]
Amongst the Serpent's Keep Pack, Titan found his purpose as a Chaser. He's one of the original founders of the Elkguard, the pack's most elite hunting force. His enthusiasm and hard work helped elevate the hunting party to its current status by provided much-needed helping claws and rounding out the skill set of existing members. Titan possessed tenacity and endurance, willing to go to any lengths to run out his prey. It was a rare event that he lost track of his target, and rarer still that he gave up and abandoned the hunt altogether. He joined the pack around the same time Raven did, and the two of them clicked. They balanced each other out: where Titan could get bogged down in the details, Raven boldly pressed forward. When Raven's lack of foresight landed her in trouble, Titan could bail her out.
While Titan enjoyed the appreciation and high rank amongst pack members, he soon began to feel out of place. He always put the pack before himself and refused to see himself as any more important than the other wolves. Where he valued careful planning and thoughtfulness, his fellow Elkguard hunters were much bolder and more careless. They operated on instinct, courage, confidence--as well as stubbornness, rashness, and impulsiveness. In particular, he clashed with November. The two seemed to hold drastically different values and often came up with completely opposed plans for a hunt, which would result in fighting and splitting the party. It would often become enough of a problem to lose the prey entirely. However, as the lead hunter for Elkguard, November often got the final say. Titan began to lose his sense of belonging and comfort amongst the hunter's ranks as he was often ignored or steamrolled past by the other, more exuberant wolves. When the young Jayfeather came of age, full of vigor and energy, Titan decided it was time for him to step down and allow new claws into the pack's most elite ranks.
While the new members of the pack showed promise, Titan held the second-most chasing experience amongst Serpent's Keep and decided to turn his focus onto teaching. A new face in the pack caught his eye, the confident and amiable Riko. He showed potential as a hunter and a willingness to prove himself to his pack members. In a way, he reminded Titan of himself the first time he stepped foot on Serpent's Keep grounds. Titan took Riko in as his hunting apprentice, forming the second official Serpent Keep's back with King Wicker's blessing. Thus, the Featherclaw hunting party was born.
Forming a new hunting party of only two wolves proved to be an uphill climb. Titan had to adopt the role of stalker and finisher on top of chaser, while Riko worked double-time as a chaser himself. The first three hunts ended in failure, but neither wolf let it get to them. Their spirits stayed high, each dedicated to the hunt. Riko eagerly learned from Titan and eventually began to settle into his own style of hunting, and on the fourth chase, the pair netted their first grouse.
