 Sunshine had never given much thought on how their life might end up. No, Sunshine was too busy trying to charm the fur off of any wolf they met. Male, female, alpha, omega, and every wolf in between were all fair game in their eyes. They weren't naive, they knew that their coat wasn't as flashy or as natural looking as most wolves who got into their dream line of work, but they were determined to be a stud. Though Sunshine was born female, they were never really attached to that particular role. Wait. Now that they were thinking about it, they never really fit either role, did they? What about any gender in between? Nope, not really. So what did that make them, unknown? Anyways that's all besides the point, they were going to need boy wolf parts to get their job done and they didn't mind having them. That was just that. How to get these boy parts, however, was another thought entirely. 

 Their dreams followed them from pack to pack, increasing in desire as they grew older. The time for their transformation into a stud was rapidly approaching and the window to have a parts exchange was closing. If they went into heat, they knew they wouldn't be able to resist taking some male up on their offer for a good night and if they got pregnant! Well, there go their dreams, right into a lake of quicksand. This had to be done now! So Sunshine decided to approach the alpha pair with their proposition, their transformation wouldn't be in vain as Studding was a full-time job, they would be able to return any funds spent on their transformation by fulfilling their job. It was simple really, invest a few cones here and get double back! Queen Darcy seemed a little rattled by this and King Loki's disapproval seemed to climb the more Sunshine spoke of the potential cash flow from their services. The lead pair glanced towards each other, a silent war raging between them.

"This is a terrible idea love, send this pup away 00this instance.
" Loki's eyes narrowed, while his tail thrashed behind him, much in the way a 0cats' does before your muzzle is full of claw marks.

Darcy's own eyes begin to narrow at the challenge in her mate's glare, 'What? Feeling threatened by the possibility of another altered wolf in the pack? This pup wants to change, just like another little wolf I used to know.'

Loki's ears flattened, a nasty-looking snarl forming on his face, 'That's not it at all wench! This pup is not making this decision for the right reasons. Or perhaps you are fine with letting one so young make such a choice, to drastically alter their body, to drastically alter their life in such a way with little consideration of the consequences! Only for them to sell their body to someone for a quick cone?'

His glare had softened at some point during his rant, his face angled away from her and his tail tucked tight to his side. He really cared about this, didn't he? At the smell of distressed omega, Darcy leaned into him, and comforting licks and nuzzles were quickly exchanged. 'How about we talk to them? Maybe talk about health risks and accidental inbreeding to try and scare them up a little bit? Worse come to worse, if they still want to go through with this, we make sure their head is in the right place before unleashing a breeding machine into the world. Agreed?' 

 With a nod and a nuzzle, the lead pair were in agreement. Months blended by as Sunshine received lecture after lecture from Loki. Detailing as to 'why this change is not to be taken lightly' and 'The effects this change will take on you body and your mind'. The horror stories of diseases, genital infections, and the disgusting process of birth that they would be inflicting on females by breeding them was Darcy's domain. She could somehow describe something so well, that it envelops all of your senses. Sunshine had thrown up after her stories on multiple occasions. Finally, after several tests both physical and mental, the lead pair began prepping for a ceremony of sorts. Sunshine didn't understand why, this was the first they'd ever heard of a ceremony for this type of thing. They tried to decline all the glitz and glamor, but the alpha pair insisted. Well, at least Loki did. Claiming that, a certain amount of celebration was in order, not to mention the rituals that are required to allow the changes to properly take hold.'

 Throughout the preparations, Loki shocking refused to leave their side. Asking if they'd like a new name, what pronouns were preferred, and if they'd wanted any new markings or even a complete coat change. He diligently noted their answers, never once stopping to correct or disapprove of their choice. He was taking care of everything it seemed, sending the hunting parties to the correct locations of the desired prey on the menu, having the Pupsitters and older pups tidy the den, and even allowing the younger pups to help hang brightly colored leaves and flowers around the entire den. The last thing on Loki's list was taking the journey to gather the ingredients to create the Herb of Change. Loki and Firestar would make this journey alone as gathering the ingredients required a trip into human territory, something that is strictly forbidden by the laws of mother nature.
Sunshine pondered over a new name while Loki was gone. S was a very nice letter, it was honestly their favorite letter. Lots of good things came from the letter S. Strawberries, Stoats, Squirrels...wait...that's all food, isn't it? Anyways their new name should most definitely start with S.
