A strange and enigmatic personality in the pack. She obsesses over caves and bioluminescence. Of which she believes has a connection to the stars. Her frequent consumption of fly agaric mushrooms, which causes her to go into delirium, is often worrying to the pack but not necessarily an issue. She claims to her packmates that they give her visions of flying among the stars. As long as she is fit to hunt, Caribou and Pike have never minded. She loves spending time with Sturgeon, a wolf who is skeptical of her theories but listens nonetheless. His skeptical nature and practical knowledge of the stars help strengthen her theories. Both of which spend lots of time listening to Whale Song, who encourages Silkworm to continue her studies of cave systems.
Sturgeon showed her his secret collection of pearls he searches for in the oysters that dot the coastline of the island. He gifted her one and the two grew very close. They are mated.
