Athala keeps many secrets. Most of which she learned accidentally by others saying them in front of her. They often forget that she is there. She is loyal and hard-working, yet no one seems to notice her. Or they do but only see her mistakes. This often leads her to dissociate and lie to herself. 

Dark beings haunt her mind, asking why she protects her pack so much if they had forgotten her. Lying and telling her that they will betray her. She knows it's not true. Her pack are hard working and caring people. She's just so forgettable. The voices tell her to lash out and make her mark in a way that can never be forgotten. But she would rather be a hero in the dark than a shining villain. Her greatest fears are being alone and forgotten and the fact that they happen is driving her to despair. 

  The voices get louder and more convincing. Yet she knows that if she listens to them she would lose all she has left. Herself. So instead she sings herself her lullabies and tells herself that everything will be okay. Maybe just maybe she will earn her place in the pack. It's not really other wolves fault. She unconsciously distances herself over her agoraphobia and her fears of betrayal. That is how she was forgotten. By lying to herself and convincing herself that she is alone and non-existent.

Lately she has been taking an interest in a puppy. Surely they won't understand that she's an outcast. She talks to them and they seem to think she's a spirit. The pup is so nice and helps her get past her worries. The only problem is that the pup thinks that they are speaking to the spirit of Mystriel. Athala does sound a lot like her grandmother. Her passing hit hard to many. Including Athala. Athala has promised the pup that she will watch over and guard him for as long as she lives. Athala also feels a kinship towards Echo. Echo is mysterious and her pups are equally as mysterious. The pup, although being completely unrelated to Athala's mother, seems to share the same eyes. However the pup seems to display something more like the Voidcallers power. Athala has listened in to her mother's teachings of these pups.

Athala has began to observe the Voidcaller. The guard, Vandelian doesn't seem like he noticed her being there. Or perhaps he mistook her for a void spirit. Either way, Athala enjoys watching how well they get along. The Voidcaller is still a puppy, Vandelian seems scary and even threatening to other wolves but he's so gentle and playful towards the Voidcaller. After awhile while playing tag with Shusanna, they crashed into Athala which seemed to shock them upon realizing Athala is a solid wolf. They apologized and allowed Athala to hang out with them. Finally she's been accepted!

Unfortunately nothing good lasts forever. Another soul nearly forgotten, another shadow plaguing the pack. The wolf's glares seem to freeze her mate and it sends chills down Athala's spine. The wolf is a danger but Athala feels for him. He was outcasted and forgotten just like her. Except instead of being accepted, he is treated as an enemy. If only others took him seriously and helped him. But it's too late now, unlike Athala who wants no one else to suffer her fate, Voidbreak wants others to know his pain. He will not stop at anything to inflict it. But does he know just how far the balance will crumble if he gets the wolf he wants? Athala can't let it happen. Unlike Vandelian and the Voidcaller, Athala isn't affected by his shadow magic. But hurting him will ruin Athala's relations to Echo who still loves her pup and can't see what evil and misfortune he will bring

Athala and Vandelian have adopted a pup to raise together. After two rollovers the pup has left to join their biggest enemy. She is not sure exactly what went wrong. But the Shadowborn looks just as confused. Maybe he's lonely? Athala can understand that feeling. But unfortunately circumstances have it so that she is on the opposite side because of her mate whom she loves very much. She hasn't had much time with the pup but the Voidcaller is like a pup to her. As long as Aetherius is happy and safe.
