Saba

Saba didn't have a close relationship with her birth pack, so when she was the first to be kicked out when food became scarce she wasn't surprised. She wandered around for a few weeks alone and eventually met Kodi, a goofy wolf with 0 survival skills. They helped each other and their optimism and cheeriness despite the dire famine attracted a few wandering souls.

Her first litter was born shortly after the famine subsided, it consisted of a son and daughter. The son, Redwood always hated authority and grew too resent his mother, even though she tried her best. Admittedly, there were areas she failed at being a mother in, shoving her pups with the inexperienced pupsitter and actively choosing to focus on her Alpha duties as apposed to letting Kodi take over for a bit.

Redwood grew to resent everyone in the pack except his sister and friend Timber and, during a period of severe tension during a terrible famine, fought Saba for the position of Alpha. He lost and tried to convince everyone to leave the pack, but in the end only he and his sister ended up leaving.

The pack was emotionally broken by the loss of newly born puppies and the loss of Redwood and Thunder. Saba was never quite the same after that day, she was a little more stoic and other pack members always noticed that she had a very slight melancholy behind her eyes, no matter how happy she looked otherwise.

The famine soon ended after a mysterious puppy showed up, and from then her pack grew to a nice size. When a confused, lost adolescent showed up, Saba immediately let her join and in a few years, that wolf's son became one of her most trusted friends. However, she had to decieve her pack in order to get them to accept Ghost and his sister and she tried her best to help them understand their strange gifts.

Saba was a kind and fair leader, using her past mistakes to push her forward and try to make her pack the best place possible. Her mate, Kodi, was the love of her life through all her years later and they were very happy. However, they are both getting older and she knows they won't be around much longer. As more supernatural things threaten their pack, Ghost proved himself to be a very good leader when in such scary situations and Saba decided that he would be the next pack leader. Near the end of her life, Saba announced her succsessor, Ghost to the pack and began handing things over to him.

She died only a few days before Kodi and passed peacefully in her sleep. Her spirit still watches over her children and Ghost.
