Biography
Conoco is a head scout of Wapiti Run. He is a bit headstrong and bossy, but has a strong determination to live up to the fact that his father is the Alpha. He will fulfill this position with his half-brother, Pocono.
His mother, Oaken, was Dioute's first mate and second-alpha of the pack, but when he was merely nothing more than a scrap of fur, she decided to leave and join a different pack. She left him with his father and often he spent time alone, wondering why his mother didn't want him. When Dioute took the herbalist, Appalachia as his mate and bore him his brother Pocono, he became even more bitter, feeling as though he was being replaced.
But soon after, he found that having a little brother was fun and Appalachia took him in, caring for him as a mother should. Dioute was attentive and took them both out training, telling them that they were chosen to be Scouts for Wapiti Run. Conoco took on the training with great pride, and though Pocono's whimsical nature sometimes got on his nerves, he was grateful for the company and loyalty that his brotherhood brought him.
Together they aged and became Scouts of the Run. They continue to train together and laugh together and bring pride to their bloodline, but often, in the lonely ventures, Conoco is still left wondering if his mother would have been proud too. He actually became close with a young wolf called Tikaani who joined for a bit. She was from a place called Shenandoah and he enjoyed spending time with her. After a bit of time where he thought maybe she would have stayed with them and with him, she left.
After a bit of time passed, he chanced wandering back near where he knew her pack lived. He asked to meet with her and was surprised and delighted to discover that she had carried and delivered his pups. He got the chance to meet their pups, Utchunquoyes, Amonute, and Susquehanna. After spending some time with them and feeling as though his world was expanding, he made an agreement with Tikaani to set times for visits. When he returned, he found that Susquehanna had followed him home. After trying to return him, Conoco and Tikaani decided to allow their son to come home and stay with him, while still meeting so often to see each other. With his son now in his life, he feels as though he's been more pleased with his place in life. He takes time to play with him and teach him and he stays with Cocono in the den at Antler Ridge. He feels as though his life is turning around and perhaps, through Susquehanna, he could be more than what he felt like he was.
After a particularly rough day of answering questions the ever-growing Susquehanna posed about his mother and his siblings and arguing a bit about his place in Wapiti Run, Conoco found himself wandering the edges of camp. He ran into Sinnema, who noticed his distressed state and asked if he needed to talk. After a while of talking and both vulnerable, they spent the night together. Conoco felt guilty about it afterwards, especially since he still misses the company of Tikaani and Sinnema was so close with Pyma. He is unaware that Sinnema's pup, Ilau, is actually his and not Pyma's.
After his father's death, Conoco has seemed more tired than usual and he spends his free time visiting Tikaani and their pups who live in Shenandoah. His pups are Susquehanna, Pucketa, Chautauqua, Utchunquoyes, Amonute, and has a couple grandpups, including Nchinktehwe, Tentay, Kishu and Ntalan.
