Biography
Starry Ashes is the first leader and the founder of The Pack of Magellanic Stars.
Her tale is not one of happiness nor contentment; in fact, throughout most of her life, she has fought for her pack to survive. Leaving her mother and siblings at the ripe age of two years, Starry Ashes, then known as 'Snowy Oaks' explored the mountainous terrain, searching high and low for a place to call her own.
Along her journey, she encountered a nice male who's name was whispered through smiling teeth, long forgotten by the alpha. The two twinned tails for a while but things collapsed when Snowy Oaks gave birth to two daughters, Muddy Peak and Plateau Dew. The male disappeared the night they were born and never did return.
Unfortunately, being alone with two hungry pups took it's toll on Snowy Oaks. Her pups' health withered away until they passed away, still so, so young.
Snowy Oaks was heartbroken, and rightfully so. A male who she thought would be her forever mate despite knowing each other for only a few months leaving herself and her pups behind to wilt and die? With the grief of a mother, she somberly continued her journey, her morale as low as it could be.
But, things looked up for the young she-wolf, as she found a beautiful set of caverns lit up by bioluminescent plantation and a perfect view of a galaxy; the Magellanic Clouds. Inspired by this cave system, she marked the territory daily and eventually claimed it for her own. It was such a lucky find.
But even the strongest wolves needed others to rely on. Despite her upbringing of 'don't trust stranger wolves', Snowy Oaks began to grow.. lonely. It only took a month or two for her to decide to start befriending dispersal wolves.
The first was barely a puppy, abandoned by his mother and father and left to fend for himself. Still not over her grief, she quickly took action and brought the pup to the cave, eventually claiming him as her own. She named him Sandy Shallows as his fur was the colour of wet sand beneath harsh sprays of sea water.
The second was more mature, around 3 years of age. She was mallicious, harsh and unwilling to join Snowy Oaks at first. But, as time went on and as more encounters happened, she decided to give in and join. She introduced herself as Star Dust; she had been wondering for over a year now.
The third was a more unique case. With herself, Star Dust and Sandy Shallows, they were beginning to form a sort of family. Snowy Oaks viewed Star Dust as a sister and allowed her to watch over her son whilst she wondered off in hopes to find more dispersals interested in joining their family. However, instead of finding lone wolves, she found a larger, stronger pack; Snowy Oaks spoke with them for a while before a puppy was dumped into her paws. A little black, grey and dust pup, squealing and biting at her ankles. The pack explained that she was quite the trouble but was strong and had potential; her name was Tiny Bear. Snowy Oaks felt bad taking her away from her mother, presuming she had one, yet her denials were ignored and the wolves wondered away, leaving her with the poor scrap. Well.. it would be inhumane to leave her here. So, begrudgingly, she brought her home.
The fourth and final one appeared far later in her life. A young wolf, barely an adult, came to her scared and lonely. Her pelt was shiny and glimmered beneath moonlight, her eyes an impossible glowing purple. It reminded Snowy Oaks of herself and, so, without much hesitation, she adopted the poor she-wolf and named her Twinkling Sun.
The family grew and grew, having more and more backgrounds and more and more skillsets. Eventually, they became a self-sustained pack, no longer feeding off of abandoned carcasses and amusing themselves with crumbling bones. No longer were they tainted by famine, no longer were they reliant on other wolves to do the hunting. And so, with this, Snowy Oaks announced that they were a pack and deserved to have a name; The Pack of Magellanic Clouds. It only seemed right as the galaxies inspired her so much to get her where she is today. With their newly established pack name and 20 packmates, Snowy Oaks decided to rename herself Starry Ashes.
