Biography
Bastet (Bast) is a goddess who is depicted as a lioness which later turned to the better known cat. She is the daughter of Re (Ra). Her ferocious nature was ameliorated with the domestication of cats around 1500 bce.she was the Goddess of the home, domesticity, women's secretes, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She protected the home from evil spirits and especially diseases. Associated with women and children.
