Butterfly watched over the scene before her. Hollyhock and Bloodmoon tussled on the clearing floor, their jaws snapping wildly at each others ears. She smiled. What number was she at now? Twelve? It had quite possibly been her responsibility to watch over at least twelve litters of pups. she had watched the sun beat down on this very clearing for many moons, the sandy floor studded with tiny pawprints. She signed a deep, relaxed sigh. Hopefully she'd be able to watch over many more.
