Before Apollo had passed, his butterfly familiar he affectionately called Jewel, laid an egg that hatched shortly after he passed, Jewel mysteriously disappeared with him that day. Soot took the newly hatched swallowtail as a sign that Apollo wanted a small piece of him to continue to be with Soot, even though his mate had told him that he would always carry his soul in his heart.
