in the OLD lore:
Neila wants to be useful, she longed for the day where she would join the hunters out on the field with the wind in her fur and the ground swishing by under her claws.. until those dreams were crushed when she was assigned the pupsitting duty. she hates it! she hates the innocent pups and their playful nature. "play nice with the pups, be mindful of their curiosity" to hell with that, if the pups won't listen to her one and only quick warning then they can rot in that hole they fell into for all she cares.
the only quiet time she gets is when Forshious asks to give her a break. he doesn't need to do this, he is a prized hunter for goodness sake, he's way above the rank of a pupsitter! and he seem to be enjoying the pups about as much as she does. but ye he comes to take over, every day after a hunt. Neila doesn't understand why he does this, maybe he is the only one to understand her frustrations? and so, Forshious is the only wolf Neila doesn't hate. after some time, with Forshious around, Neila started to enjoy her role in the pack. sure the pups were as annoying as always, but they all behaved whenever Forshious arrived. he was "the almighty, a true warrior!" as they often called him. and as the strongest member of the hunters, she couldn't blame them for thinking such of him. and she couldn't help but deny that she admired him too. a lot.
when he 'disappeared' she was left with nothing but an empty void in her soul. it hurt so much she swore she would never be as caring to another soul like that, to never let anyone close to her again. but she didn't lash out, she didn't try to run away, she just kept doing her assigned job. it was the only thing she knew, the only thing he used to to with her. she found comfort in that. even though she hated every single pup and every single little whine that came out of their tiny maws.
