Timber was born in a pack from far north. Life was tough but the love that the pack mates shared made it worth it. She worked hard and dreamt of the day she would find the kind of love that her parents had-an undying one-and the possibility of raising her own pups. That was what was expected of her, especially as the future alpha. She was the sole survivor of her litter-the others falling ill or being too weak no matter what her parents did, so she wanted to make them proud. She patrolled the pack lands and welcomed trustworthy wolves and the pack began to grow.
She made close friends and eventually fell in love with a loner turned pack mate named Myax. He was muscular but kind and tried hard to get in her social graces-she was no easy prize to be won. Eventually he grew on her and she accepted his advances and found herself falling in love. The two were in sync. They could take down large prey together, keep the pack safe from threats, you name it they could do it and when the time came they became mates.
As time passed, they became alphas, giving her parents the ability to relax and enjoy pack life, but that's when Myax started to change. It was subtitle at first. He spent more time patrolling and sank back into himself. Instead of curling up together in their den, Timber was left alone most nights. Rarely did they spend time together and when they did it ended up in fights, small tiffs at first but then those grew in larger ones. There was a chasm ripping them apart and no matter what she did, Timber couldn't seem to figure out the problem, she even tried to follow Myax on one of his nightly patrols but he got angry and forced her to back off. Though things were tense, the pack was thriving, and Timber let the issues go, then she had their pups.
Three of them, all perfect. She cooed over them and was excited to share them with her mate, but Myax looked at them with what could only be described as disdain. He kept his distance and when confronted by Timber, gave no response, just the cold shoulder. It began to make her feel uneasy but she couldn't show it, the pack needed to have confidence in their alphas, especially with such new additions to the family. Timber watched over her pups, focusing her attention on them, leaving Myax to his own devices.
The night was unusually cold, Timber was sleeping with her pups when sounds of alert rang through the night. She ran to the front of her den to see dark shadows of wolves attacking her pack members, the smell of blood filled the air. One by one each pack member of every age was slain. Timber wanted to fight but she had her pups to think of. She yelled for Myax, who walked from the shadows, she asked him for help but he walked closer to her, she pleaded with him, asking him what was happening but he lunged at her, claws digging into her face and into her body. She was taken by surprise, struggling to fight back but Myax was bigger-stronger, something evil burned in his eyes as he unleashed all of his fury into her, carving into her body. The pain was too much, everything for Timber went black.
In the morning her eyes opened, and she struggled to her feet, taking in the blood soaked pack ground littered with bodies of the ones she loved, everything was silent. Her pups. She turned and hobbled into her den only to find a scene of blood. She was the only survivor. Myax was nowhere to be found, but she was sure he survived. She wanted to give up, but she couldn't. From that day she became a loner. She nursed her own wounds and took care of herself, strengthening herself day by day, knowing that eventually she would find her ex mate and exact her revenge.
A little over a year she was searching until she found him-or rather his body. It was collapsed against a dead tree, it was eviscerated, by what she didn't know, she only wished she was the one who did it. Still her fury welled up inside her and she drug her claws against his face and pushed it into the dirt before turning and walking away, her future now empty.
