For a long time, Beelzebub had known he was special. His mother whispered promises of eternal glory and fame into his ears when he was a mere suckling pup, encouraging him to challenge the dominance of his higher-ups and rise to a leader position within his pack. He'd climbed up the ranks until he had enough power to challenge his alpha, but was beat soundly out of the territory instead.
As he fled the borders of his childhood home, feverish from his wounds and exhausted from the journey, Beelzebub fell into a nine day coma. He saw a new ethereal being who claimed to emphasize with him; God had cast him down from his position in heaven and left him wandering the secular realm, searching for a purpose now that his godliness had been stripped from him.
"You can help me," the being'd said. "We can help each other."
Beelzebub woke up hungry, thirsty, and wanting. After taking care of his needs, his only focus was accumulating a pack; this new god would need followers if he was to be restored to his former glory, and he was determined to be among the first of his worshippers.
A cruel reign occurred over the next five years. He punished harshly according to Likos' oppressive laws and rules and believed in arranged mateships over natural ones. When he died, only a few of his most loyal followers stayed for the eulogy, given by Pontabub, his daughter. He left behind just one pup by Sagevale, named Pride of Beelzebub, who is the last true follower of his branch of Likos worship.
