Birchpelt's former pack was surprised when she announced she was leaving to be with Kurova. No one thought the selfish male from a nearby pack was good for the sweet she-wolf. They didn't realize the two had been meeting for a year and slowly forming a relationship. Not until she told them so they wouldn't worry too much about her.
The two thought they would start their own pack, especially when Birch realized she was pregnant, but found that it was hard to thrive when you don't have enough wolves to help you. And with more mouths on the way they were going to need that help fast.
And so it seemed like a blessing when a radiant wolf stumbled onto their den. Seeing their situation, they were offered a place in her newly formed pack. Both wolves gratefully accepted, and with just enough time as it was very soon after that Birch gave birth to two female pups.
Not long after the pack moved to their new home, Birchpelt found herself mourning her beloved mate.
