Anubis is the Egyptian God of the dead. He is a jackal-headed deity that presides over the embalming processes and accompanied dead kings to the afterlife. When kings are being judged by Osiris, Anubis places their heart on a scale with a feather (representing Maat) on the otherside. His female counterpart also known as his wife, is Anput. His father is Set (also know as Seth) and his mother is Nepthys.
