Biography
◆
Uriel stared in awe of the she-wolf in front of him. Her fur was a dark silver, dotted with subtle blue accents. Her nose was the color of the night sky, and her paw pads almost seemed to glow. She looked as if she had been borne from the night itself.

Astraea
"I'm sorry my dear. I can't help but worry about your safety."
Shy, quiet, and reserved, Astraea doesn't talk too often. Mostly, the steele she-wolf keeps to herself. Her silence isn't to be taken as aloofness though, as Astraea is very kind, even if she does sometimes overthink and fret over the little things. She has a big heart, and lets herself speak through actions rather than words.
Often times, Astraea watches over pups with her mate Uriel. When she isn't watching over pups or hanging out with Uriel, the she-wolf is often accompanying her daughter Tara on a hunt or quietly watching the creatures of the rainforest.
FAMILY
Astraea -- "Star Maiden, Starry Night" [Greek]
BIOGRAPHY
Astraea's life would have been like many others; she would have grown up, and dispersed in search of a mate, settled down, and have pups. If she had been normal.
Yet she wasn't.
Everything about her early life was normal. Astraea had made friends as a pup, and she had parents that were proud of her. Her father in particular was very proud of the steele pup he had sired, and bragged that his own daughter had been kissed by the moon. She was sheltered and protected, always having a warm bed and full stomach.
When she became an adolescent, she hadn't exactly been fond of the idea of gushing praise over male wolves like most of her friends did. Astraea began to become more reserved and secluded; at first she disliked it, but she eventually got used to it. She would often time roams the woodlands all alone, though she eventually stopped after constantly getting attacked by much larger creatures. This experience made her jumpy, and much more anxious.
As an adult, the time had come to choose a mate. Astraea had been paired with a dapper looking sandy male. His name was Maddox, and he had taken quite a liking to Astraea. Though hesitant, she agreed to it and the two were mates. More time passed, however, and Astraea had not even become pregnant while other she-wolves were already tending to their new litters. The pair thought it was simply misfortune, but eventually they realized that Astraea could not bear pups.
Maddox, after realizing this, was clearly disinterested in Astraea. She knew he probably thought she was useless; after all, she was a female that could not bear pups. Yet she still hoped he would love her. Her worst fears were confirmed, however, when she walked in on Maddox and another unfamiliar she-wolf in their den. She wasn't heartbroken, much to her surprise. Perhaps it was because she knew it was just a matter of time. Still, she was hurt by such mistrust. Her anxieties only increased, and so she ran away to the mountains, hoping a fresh start would make things better.
Things were rough for her at the start. Astraea's paranoias did not pair well with the life of a loner. Plus, the mountains were far colder than the forest she had once lived in. It was not hopeless though, as one day she came across a mountain pond. She looked down curiously from the ridge she had been walking along.
A white male wolf was taking a pup to play, who she would eventually come to know as Uriel and Deborah. Were they pack wolves? Her curiosity edged her closer, but upon being noticed by the white wolf, she freaked out and tumbled down the mountainside, falling unconscious.
Next time she had awakened, she was met by Tāmerriku, the pack's current herbalist. She was left to talk with Uriel, and the pair got along quite well. Feeling she could trust him, she became his shadow, following him everywhere. In the words of the herbalist, "They were like the sun and the moon."
Tāmmeriku's predictions were correct, and eventually, Astraea fell in love with the white wolf. His feelings were mutual, and though she could not bear pups, he loved her just the same. The pair of two became three after Astraea had found a small pup orphaned by a mountain creek, and the steele she-wolf was more than happy to adopt the brown pup, who would be named Tara.
Now she lives quite happily with the Kohana Pack, watching over pups with Uriel or cheering on Tara during her hunts.
