Coyote was first assigned a hunter, but was moved to the pupsitter role because Rain only just realized that, when Ash would inevitably need to retire, Cloud would be the only pupsitter remaining. Since Coyote is so sociable, Rain thought the new role would suit him well. Though Coyote did not expect the change, he enjoyed being able to spend time with all the pups.
