Keen and attentive, notices many things. She has an incredible mind and a love for experimentation. Having learned well from the previous herbalist Aishi, she built on that knowledge and has been on a quest for knowledge ever since.
Like several others, she had to take on her role much sooner than expected due to the Blight. Her teacher, Aishi, was a fantastic herbalist and a very healthy wolf; however, when the Blight struck, he found himself without an answer it. His relentless searching for a cure exhausted him, and he eventually fell into a state of semi-death: he was asleep, but he was very much alive. Unable to wake him, a fairly unprepared Nift rose to the occasion and continued her teacher's search for a cure.
As Nift got older, she began to realize that she was having the same problem that Boey was - their tireless work to drive out the Blight exhausted them but they continued to push themselves. Now both felt the effects. Boey had it worse than she did, and Nift found herself bringing Boey soothing salves for his perpetual aches and pains. Soon enough, she needed to make more for herself.
Nift got relief sooner when after searching for quite a while, she found a suitable successor for herself - a pup that Alsax fathered, Romboen. Romboen was an eager learner as well as good-natured and hardy, and he was a natural fit. Though Nift was now retired, she continue to assist Boey as she could tell he didn't have much time left. However, neither did she.
