Meri from the Forest

Meri returned just as the leader was passing his last days with the pack. She had left on the journey that all the members of her pack make at the age of one year. Many never return. Some find new packs were they fit in better And a very few like her return to their original pack. Most can't remember anything from before they left. But a lucky few like her remember their family. It was for this reason. And the timing of her return, that she was chosen to lead the pack in his place.

Years past and the time came for Meri like it does all of us. She could feel the days drawing to a close. It was now she must start looking for the leader of the next generation.

As the moons continued to pass no wolves returned from beyond the borders of their lands. Its wasnt the way of things and Mari grew concerned, but she knew in her heart things would return to normal.

She turned her eyes inward towards the current pack and picked a young strong wolf named river. The pack always stayed close to the river so it was in it's own way meant to be.

Satisfied with this choice she left river to train and prepare for the important task ahead, well she took in some time by the fire. Soaking in the warmth.
