Crowtalon was abandoned by his parents as a pup when he was first known as Crow, but was taken in by Lillemor from the enclave, where he isolated himself from the other pups that were up for adoption, sometimes bullying them when they attempt to tease him. When Nordran came into the enclave with Frostmoon and Kara, the loving couple noticed a lone black wolf pup sulking in the corner, away from the happy and playful groups. They decided to take in Crow and upon returning to Stormfallen, Nordran renamed him Crowpup and he was to be raised under Frostmoon and Kara's guardianship until he became an apprentice. He still remained harsh and distant from his packmates up til adulthood, causing tension within his hunting party and arguments that would cost them prey. One wolf by the name of Frostfire, had a more fiesty nature and confronted Crowtalon and the two became rivals until Nordran assigned the two young wolves to catch something together with no one but each other to work with since their rivalry and arguing resulted in failed hunting attempts and close calls. At first, they separated, each thinking they could catch something without the other's help. It was only when they overheard a small group of rogues attempting to invade and take over Stormfallen that they had decided to team up. Frostfire ran like the wind with her swift speed and agility to warn Nordran and the pack of the incoming invasion while Crowtalon distracted the rogues and fought them off as long as possible until Stormfallen's cavalry came to the rescue. Frostfire and Crowtalon fought together during the battle and the rogues were chased off, never to be seen again. Moons later, Frostfire and Crowtalon became mates. Frostfire was chosen as the next leader of Stormfallen after Nordran's passing, given the name Froststar and Crowtalon became her beta.
