Biography
Pairbond: Mare
------------------------
Juniper had always been wise beyond his years. No one had ever told him that, of course, but he knew it was true.
Knew it as surely as he knew the forests at the base of the mountains. Every path, every tree, every fallen leaf was emblazoned in his mind as clearly as the stars on a cloudless night.
He was wise beyond his years, and hungry beyond his means.
Juniper had been alone for long enough that he didn't care to dwell on where he might have come from. He just knew he was here now, here with the conifers and the oaks. And the prey he could not catch.
Berries sufficed for a time, and he would not stoop to decaying leftovers.
Tracking was easy. Rabbit dens were obvious, circling birds never left his sight, and could tail a stag in his sleep.
But as clear and concise as his mind was, his body matched it for clumsiness. Perhaps it came of the old wound in his stomach, though that had long since scarred over. The spoils of some forgotten trauma that had happened long enough ago that it shouldn't impede him now.
But it did. And he was dying for it.
