Biography
Leader | She/Her
Year 1-8
"I will ensure this pack stays prosperous for as long as I live. That is a promise."
Soul, the founder of the Daylight Sun, Northward Shores, and now Towards Daylight. A wolf whose name is both basked in light and dragged through muck. Her life was a complicated one at that. Fearsome, stubborn, and ready to sink her teeth into anything that dared wrong her, Soul wished to create a pack to lead. Not for herself, oh no, for the entity that she and many of her family members worshiped, The Sun. It was in her best interest to continue the influence her now dispersed natal pack once had. And who better to help her with that than her dear older brother?
The Deciduous Forest was Soul's home. Here, she would find Rayne after many tireless days and nights. He would be accompanied by another wolf named Taiga. These two, with a bit of convincing, joined Soul as founders. Now, her brother was skeptical of her. He knew who raised her, the entity his family worshiped, and what they encouraged Soul to become. She was a gift, or so they claimed. And he, frankly, did not want much to do with it. However, Taiga was more than convinced, even after his warnings. So, Rayne became the first beta of the pack, and Taiga became the first herbalist.
Through the coming years, many wolves joined. Sleet and Anwir became the first scouts. Kindle, Finnick, and Hestia joined Rayne in creating the First Hunters, now known as the Daybreak Hunters. And a friendly ghost named Stipple became the pack's first caregiver. The Daylight Sun was coming together. It had successfully moved to the Prairie, Taiga, and then Riparian Woodland by now, too. However, Soul was never satisfied with all she had, surprisingly, achieved in that time.
In the Riparian Woodland, the Daylight Sun would settle for the final years of Soul's life. The founder never took on a mate, nor had pups of her own, thus the pack lacked a wolf to take the helm. After a bit of encouragement, the old leader would reluctantly choose her heir, Morning. Soul saw promise in the young wolf and a kind of patience many others lacked. Upon her ceremony, Morning took control of her responsibilities with ease, and thus, Soul could finally rest and start reflecting on all she had done.
Was she proud of herself? Ashamed? Wondering what could have been? No one would know. No one would even get to know her last words. Soul passed away alone in her den one night. Whatever went through her head in her final moments will forever be between her and The Sun.
Soul's leadership is a debated one. Tall tales and rumours are much of what is left of her. Of course, her pendant is still kept by the current leader. It does its job of warning Towards Daylight of when the Dreamlands will open, but it is no longer worn by any wolf, as it has begun to deteriorate with age. It rests hung on a wall of the leader's den, a reminder to each wolf who leads the pack of its founder, Soul. She lives on through them. Forever.
