Biography
𝓗𝓲𝓫𝓲𝓼𝓬𝓾𝓼
There was an air of sophistication as the henna-colored wolfdog trotted past the waterfall. Her ruby veil shimmered in the sunlight as she moved elegantly. Her milky brown eyes glanced towards the pack, a majority of who were soaking up the sun in a nap.
She spotted her daughter, a doubloon-colored she-wolf named Kanikonna, who was napping in the shade of a large tree. Deciding to leave her at peace, Hibiscus glanced back towards the waterfall, which gave off the calming sound of the rush of water.
While her sister always had the instrumental talent, Hibiscus always had a sweet, melodic voice. She began to hum quietly, and there was nothing but her voice and the sound of water for a long while, until the notes of ocarina joined.
Hibiscus paused, glancing over to see her sister Delja. The brass-colored wolfdog flashed her a grin, and soon the two began playing together. Peace was once more restored.
Eventually, a palm squirrel darted by. The two sisters, finding it strange, glanced at one another. However, any questions were soon answered as their brother Wilden barreled into the pair.
"Oh Wilden." Hibiscus said with a sigh. As her two younger siblings broke into laughter, Hibiscus can't help but smile. This is her family.
Kanikonna opens one sky-blue eye, looking somewhat confused at the trio of wolfdogs. "Mom? What happened?"
Hibiscus let out a loving chuckle. "Konna, come join us."
A smile crosses the doubloon-colored she-wolf's face as she nuzzled closer to her mother. Letting out a contented sigh, Hibiscus glanced towards the waterfall, spotting a beautiful red-colored hibiscus growing from the side of the cliff. Everything is perfect.

Hibiscus was born during a cold, wintery night. The bitter chill of the breeze carried into the rocky mountain cave where many of the Kohana Pack members huddled together. This included Takara and Seraphina, who nestled closely around the small red pup. Their breath could be seen in the air, especially when Seraphina let out a longing sigh.
"What's wrong? Do you not love her?" The golden-wolf had said to his mate with a disheartened look. The brown dog gave him a sad glance.
"No, no! That's not it at all." Seraphina turned towards the cave entry, where the snow rushed by to wherever the wind carried it. She let out a sigh, and glanced back to the small pup, with a look of tremendous love. "I just wish we could provide a better life for her."
Takara's face grew serious, and he spoke. "I promise Seraphina, for you and our daughter, we'll find some place warm and pleasant. But for now, unfortunately, we are confined to the mountains."
Seraphina smiled. "Warm and pleasant, just like our little one." She touched noses with the pup, who mewled in response. It was obvious the dog's heart had melted. Finally, she spoke to her mate. "What should we name her?"
"Well... erm..." Takara wasn't exactly prepared, even if he had more than two months to prepare a name. He glanced to the small, red ball of fur, and gently nuzzled her. He took a deep breath and relaxed. Suddenly, it came to him. "How about Hibiscus? She's as sweet as nectar, and her beautiful red fur could make flowers envious!"
The dog had chuckled. "Perfect suggestion as always, Takara." She curled closer around her pup and smiled. "Welcome to the world, Hibiscus."
As time passed, Hibiscus grew up on the mountain. She found life at Lassen Peak miserable. It wasn't that live there was hard, quite the opposite in fact, but she simply found it to be... lifeless. Her father would tell her stories from his puphood in the forest, and Hibiscus longed to be there. To feel soft soil under her paws, forage for plants, nap under the color-changing canopies... it all sounded so dreamy to her.
While she was a pup, Hibiscus didn't have many friends. It wasn't that she was mean or rude, but many of the other pups didn't like her because of her wolfdog heritage. Many of them believed her to be too frail to play with them (despite her rather powerful build) or too dumb to understand 'wolf games,' so she often played with her mother or father instead. Her life was more or less the same as an adolescent.
When she became an adult, Hibiscus was given what she considers to be the three best surprises she could have ever received.
The alpha's den was adorned with jingle bell flowers for her birthday. It was a rather pleasant day in the mountains, with little to no cold breeze. As she trotted back inside the small yet cozy den, noticing her parents, her father gestured for her to sit with them.
"Am I in trouble?" Hibiscus asked somewhat nervously, though she had done nothing wrong.
Takara chuckled and shook his head. "No no! Far from it, my sweet flower." He gestured to a small bundle wrapped in elk fur. Hibiscus approached it and glanced at him. Takara nodded, and she clawed back the wrapping.
Inside was a gorgeous pink veil. It shimmered in the rays of light that pierced the cave's rocks, and the ruby jewels had a perfectly lustrous look. The magpie feathers and gold strings were also in good condition.
Hibiscus almost instantly put it on, and both her mother and father approved. She didn't ask where it had come from-- knowing her mother, it had likely been stolen from a human, or maybe even another wolf. She simply cherished it. Rushing over to the wolf and the dog, she barreled into them. "Thank you father, thank you mother!"
"Of course, dear." Seraphina says with a sheepish look. "But that's not the only reason we brought you here."
"Oh?" Hibiscus looked towards her father for insight, and he nodded.
"Well, which would you like: the good news, or the great news?" He asked Hibiscus, who seemed to be rather curious.
"Good news!".
"Well your mother and I have discussed. We are going to be leaving the mountains for somewhere warmer!"
A yip of excitement slipped her lips, and Hibiscus pranced around. Finally! She would be far from this wretched, desolate mountain. In all her excitement though, it took her a moment to remember that there was more news.
"Wait." She said, finally recalling. "What is the great news?"
The wolf and the dog exchanged excited looks, and Seraphina smiled. "You're going to be a big sister!"
That night was full of joy and excitement, and one of the best days in Hisbiscus's life. Not long after, they departed south but ended up making their wayward journey to the rainforest.
Hibiscus LOVED the rainforest. She somewhat envied her sister Delja, who had been born on the boat, to have never known the cold mountains, and who would get to spend her puphood here. But after a chat with her mother, she was given some sound advice.
"But just think of how much sweeter this feels to you, having known the harsh cold." The dog stated as she tidied the den. "Delja will never understand that."
And so all her envious emotions were quelled, and she found life far more enjoyable as she chatted with her sister Delja and investigated different kinds of flowers with her.
"What's this?" The small golden-wolfdog had barked. She nosed a large and vibrant red flower, with cheery yellow middle. Hibiscus flashed her a smile, and took the plant, gently carrying it towards their home. She told herself that she'd keep this in her room. "Take a guess!" She chimed to her sister.
"A... peony?" Delja said, though uncertain.
The red wolf-dog shook her head, then flashed a smile. "Nope! It's a hibiscus!"
The two sisters were close, and especially much more when their father had unfortunately passed. Though it was hard for them to cope with such a loss, there was a renewal of joy in their youngest brother, Wilden. Delja was ecstatic to be a sister, and though Hibiscus pretended to be aloof to the rascally little guy, admittedly she loved him dearly.
She was also sad when her mother had died, though it was definitely hardest on their brother Wilden, who had only known her to be a parent.
Despite their differences, Hibiscus's sophisticated style, Delja's determined attitude, and Wilden's mischievous manner, they are all very close and love one another dearly.
Eventually, Hibiscus and Darshil became mates. Hibiscus found herself in awe of the imaginative poems he would write for her. They were long and romantic, which touched her heart. Eventually, Darshil asked to be her mate, and she agreed.
Later, Kanikonna was born. The two dearly treasured her, and it was somewhat evident in the way they spoiled her. Hibiscus gave Kanikonna her grandmother's autumn crown, which she seemed to adore.
Hibiscus spends most of her time with her daughter Kanikonna, teaching her everything she knows, or relaxing with her. When she isn't, she's likely supervising her siblings doing silly things, or chatting with friends.
