Orangepatch

Orangepup looked down at her pack from StarPack. She wished she could be there with her friends instead of up here, dead. She watched as her leader looked down at her mangled body and sighed. "Orangepup will be dearly missed," he said as her best friend, Windpaw, stepped forward to pay her respects. Windpaw licked her still, cold fur and frowned. She would for sure miss Orangepup, she could tell. Maybe Orangepup will visit her in a dream. She gasped when she saw her mother, Kielo, pad through the camp entrance.

"Great, you're here for the naming ceremony!" Moonstar said.

Naming Ceremony? Orangpup realized he was going to give her a proper name like the rest of the pack, even though she was way too young.

"Moonstar rested his paw on Orangepup's fur. "This pup was brave to try to fight whatever animal got her on this night." It was too bad Orangepup couldn't tell them it had been one of their own Pack. It had been Goldenpelt. And Orangepup knew Goldenpelt did it on purpose. She'd then masked her scent with rosemary and mint from what was now Spotfur's, but formerly Lighfur's, herb stores. "This pup will be named Orangepatch. She can now walk freely in StarPack's skies."

Oh, yeah, freely alright, but Orangepatch was out for revenge for Goldenpelt. She had the feeling the wolf was jealous of her, and had killed her on purpose. She would get her to tell Moonstar. Just you wait.
