"Are you ready?" Peaches wagged her tail enthusiastically, hopping around, burning her energy before the training lesson could even begin. Alsie watched her with a blank stare.
"You need to save your energy, goofball," said Alsie, tipping her head to the side, her big puppy ears flopping over. She brought up her back leg and scratched at an itch.
"Well, it's just bird watching anyway. Not like we're gonna chase them around or anything." Peaches stood from her playful bow and gave her chest fur an embarrassed lick, but was spooked halfway through as someone bumped into her hindquarters.
"Hey, watch it!" Peaches whipped around to scold whoever it was, but there was nobody there when she turned around.
Alsie snickered, glancing over Peaches's shoulder as the icy-eyed pup turned back to her.
"What's so funny? Is there something in my fur?" Peaches glanced around or a puddle or something to check her reflection, and then was pounced on by Slip.
"Hey- no fair! Stooop, you're all muddy!!" Peaches wailed, scrambling to break free from Slip's grasp.
"I win!" declared Slip. She slithered off her denmate and padded up to Alsie, and then they chatted quietly until the lesson finally began.
Puppy training:
During the lesson: A cluster of rodent burrows was a great practice zone for today's class. alsie 🌈 was able to stalk a mouse or two, but instead of killing it, bear 🌈 instructed her to let it go after presenting it.
During the lesson: alsie 🌈 waited patiently for the right moment while observing a mouse, and she caught it in one smooth movement. With her skills improving that quickly, tutor could already see alsie 🌈's future as a mighty hunter.
During the lesson: With the carcass tied to a straw string, bear 🌈 pulled it to simulate prey movement. alsie 🌈 stalked and pounced on the "prey" successfully, and began to tear it apart before she was scolded to be more precise and not let food go to waste.
