Songs of birds filled the air as a dark wolf trotted down a well travelled path. The comfort of the birds gave her the confidence as she slowed to a stop to look out upon one of the clearings of trees to see the river that flowed from the creek that fed the pack of water.
She paused, watching it, a long sigh escaped her maw as she heard a noise behind her. she turned to see a dark wolf, blue and whites giving a very apparent recognition of their leader.
"Getting distracted now are we?"
Merin stared at Silverleaf Nightshade for a good half second before stating, in the most clearly sarcastic tone yet.
"Of course not, your highness. Nothing like a bird can distract me."
"Glad to know you're still enjoying life here."
Merin nodded at that statement, "I do enjoy it here, I will admit." She gave a smile to them and glanced out. "Except it'd be real nice, if I could have a second of a break."
Nightshade let out a low chuckle, and gave a light smile. "I'm sure there's enough breaks for you and the rest of them. You don't need to worry."
Merin sighed as she stared out at the river below. she nodded her head to herself. "So it would seem..." she murmured
