Peachblossom was a capable little girl who had tons of energy. She was constantly bouncing around the nursery cave. But she was always careful to avoid hurting anyone, twisting in the air to bounce another way if a sibling moved into her path. Her evasive maneuvers were noticed by her pupsitter Lightningflash. Lightning thought that Peach's agility could make her a great chaser in the future. Peach's mother Rainwind was especially proud, being a chaser herself, that her daughter might follow in her pawsteps.
At the Academy, Peach studied Speed and Agility with many of her siblings. They learned escaping, bird-catching, and hiding. Stalking, foraging, and basic hunting were important too. The escaping lesson was Peach's favorite because she got to run as fast as she could and not hold back. She also chose to study Smarts and learned to cooperate, which was a useful skill for a future chaser.
During her apprenticeship, Peach watched her mother and the other chasers to see what being a Chaser was truly about. And she was surprised! Chasing isn't just about chasing the prey, running fast over sometimes rough terrain. Chasers also have to herd the prey into an area where the hunters can catch it more easily. That means staying focused and aware of where the prey is heading. Herding a large animal isn't always easy. Peach learned that being fast and agile wasn't enough and she would have to dedicate all her mental energy towards the hunt as well as her physical energy. Those were high demands, but she knew she could do it.
Now as an adult, Peach loves her work, her team, and her pack equally. She still cares about not hurting her packmates, so she's always careful about what she says in addition to how she play-fights. If prey tries to fight back, she's the one jumping in to protect a teammate. After work, she likes to kick back and laugh with everyone in the Grand Den. She usually has a fermented barley close by but she tries not to overindulge. Laughing at those who do is more fun.
