Abalone

Abalone had a tumultuous early life-she was put up for adoption, adopted, then left her pack as an adolescent. She wanted to become a herbalist, but didn't get along with Fleck or Glowworm, the herbalist and his trainee. Glowworm despised her. The pack preferred her greatly over Fleck and Glowworm- their bossiness was unpleasant and neither had much talent. As the pack's choice of healer was made clear, Glowworm left her herbalist training. Abalone knew she had made an enemy.
She made a tremendous herbalist, a natural with herbs.
She never wanted a mate, but was close with most of the pack. She was a trusted friend, and beloved by all. She was close with her alpha Sienna, who encouraged her and supported her as she took up her position.
Her best friend was Frostfire, and she was shocked by her friend's litter. Abalone was enamored with the three melanistic pups.
When Abalone was six and a half years old, her alpha, Sienna, began insisting she choose an apprentice. Sienna was a year older then Abalone, and worried that her pack would be without a healer after they both passed. Abalone still had time, but to reassure her alpha, she started to search in earnest.
Abalone chose Faerie as her successor, and became a mentor once Faerie took over the role. She enjoyed a few more months before it was her time to go.
