Felicity was recruiting as there was a lot of puppies born into the pack recently. She needed dependable pup watchers, and basically overpowered Ahdi into helping. Ahdi was only too happy to assist once the situation was made clear to him.

Ahdi was known to be mean. Suspicion fell upon him when pups became briefly lost, despite the glaring fact they were not his charges. Ahdi did not even visit that part of the territory, but no matter. Felicity defending Ahdi gained the pale wolf's trust, finally.

Thus, Ahdi stayed when the Collective split. Ahdi described it as branches breaking from the main tree, leaving the trunk better able to bear the load. Such yips were necessary as Felicity's confidence had been shaken. Ahdi caught her quivering and that was the result. No judgment.

Let it also be known Ahdi was a bit of a trickster when it came to teaching. He admitted not to his tactics vocally, but his expressions said it all. He laid the same scent in several places to confuse young trackers; made an obstacle course which looked like a straight shot at first glance; and sometimes there was no answer for a pup to give.
