Kinzua was born outside the pack, to a lone she-wolf named Allegheny. She and her sister, Tionesta, were the only two in the litter, but their chances were slim. Everyone knew that lone wolves didn't survive long; they needed the support, protection, and home that a pack provided. They wandered endlessly, but were chased out of every pack territory, claiming that Allegheny had the stench of death on her and would only waste their precious resources.
When there was seemingly nowhere left to go, Allegheny found them a cozy place, and though she didn't know it at the time, Kinzua would later realize she was trying to find them a nice place to die. They happened to bed down on a common ground for the Elk of Hemlock Shade Forest - the Elk found their weak bodies when they came to feed in the early morning. No time was wasted fetching Wapiti Run's Pack Alpha, Dioute. He immediately took them in, his mate Oaken and herbalist, Appalachia, helping them recover from days of no food. Dioute took pity on Kinzua's mother and with her permission, 'adopted' Kinzua and Tionesta under his name, assigning them a future as Lead Huntresses.
Kinzua spent her pup days chasing Tionesta through Black Cherry Hollow and playing with Conoco. Once Oaken left and Pocono was born, the four of them spent their days playing in the creek, meeting elk calves in the hemlocks, and training for their future roles. They got into trouble together and got out of it together - it took no time at all for Kinzua and Tionesta to be considered their sisters as much as they were brothers. Kinzua was a bit more of a dreamer - she spent her time imagining great futures and how she would lead her patrol.
Now, Kinzua and Tionesta lead together. Kinzua has yet to take a mate, but mainly because she was there for her sister when her only pup died. Her own heart was broken by this and her dream-like nature was shaken a bit, worrying her on whether or not she would actually want to one day have pups of her own.
