Biography
𝐆𝐡𝐲
The oroide-colored wolf's paws shifted through the sand as he began to look. Where was she? His smoky-grey eyes scanned the beach, looking for his mate, Delja. He wanted to be there in case she needed help, and though it wasn't often, when she needed it Delja wasn't one to ask for help, and Ghy knew this better than almost anyone.
He noticed the brass-colored wolfdog further up the beach, digging around in the sand. A crab popped out and she leaped for it, and grabbed it. She caught it and looked up, noticing Ghy. She gave a wag of her tail.
"Hey Ghy! What are you doing here?" She says with a friendly grin.
"I just thought you might need help, but I guess I was wrong." He replied with a chuckle.
"I never need help!" Delja says with an annoyed huff, trotting past Ghy.
"Really?" Ghy says with a smug look. "Not even when you got stung by a jellyfish and had to see the herbalist? Or when you needed me to help you take down that crocodile. Or when you needed me to get--"
"Okay, okay, I get it!" Delja says with a loving chuckle. Nuzzling up to Ghy, she adds. "I need you."
"I need you too, my love." He nuzzles her in return. "C'mon, let's head back. I just tidied the den since it was getting late, and I figured you'd be tired."
"I can always rely on you, Ghy." She says with a shy smile.

Ghy was not initially from Australia, but rather, from Montana. He was born to the betas of his pack, granting him somewhat of an expectation in life to take over the role as after his mother and father died. His father and mother were always kind to Ghy and even somewhat spoiled him, as he was the only pup they had survive to puphood.
Though spoiled, Ghy was by no means a brat. He always offered to help and pitch in when possible, even as a pup. As he got older, some wolves even came to him seeking assistance. His parents were proud of him, and the alphas also seemed to be fond of Ghy. Had life gone as planned, there was no doubt Ghy would have become the beta of his pack.
But life is unpredictable.
One day, while the pack had gathered for a meeting among the alphas. It was cut short by a small, feathered dart that hit the alpha female, who fell unconscious. Panic erupted and many wolves ran off, but Ghy stayed by the alpha female's side, determined to help her. He scanned the area for the danger, before being hit by a dart himself. He felt the world sway before collapsing and passing out.
He awoke in a steel crate. The truck bumped as the three humans in the front seat chatted. Ghy paced nervously, and the alpha female had awoken before him. The adolescent turned towards her for guidance, but she just looked away.
Ghy began barking, howling, and growling as he tried to tear at the bars. The humans had did this to him, for some reason. He let out a string of loud, fierce barks as he rammed against the steel.
"Shut up you dumb dog!" The human in the back seat said, as she hit the cage. Ghy let out a yelp of shock and stumbled back into the alpha female. The human turned to her companions in the front seat.
"Did you get the others? How many was there, like fifteen?" She asked, running a hand through her messy hair.
"Yeah, we got 'em." The guy in the passenger seat replied, cleaning out a rifle. "Shot nine of 'em dead, and two of them were wounded. I called our contact to pick 'em up, he said he'd pay our accounts." He said with a shrug, as if he hadn't just murdered and injured a pack of wolves, but just stepped on a few ants.
Ghy's heart dropped. If that was true, then only four wolves remained, not to mention two of them were probably lethally injured. He turned to the alpha female. "What are we going to do about this?"
"There's nothing we can do." She replied, her eyes faraway. "Our fate is in the hands of these cruel humans."
The rest of the ride was restless. Time dragged on as the dirt road led back to a cabin of sorts. The cries and pleas of other animals sounded out from the rickety old building, which did anything but calm Ghy's nerves.
It was humid and musty inside the building, mud formed in small puddles, and water dripped down from the roof. The walls were lined with stacked crates, and variety of animals were inside. The female human roughly shoved the crate with Ghy on top of a panicked puma.
"We'll sell 'em later." The man said, poking his head in. "Let's hurry back before anyone sees us."
Days passed inside the cruel cabin. Days dragged on to weeks, and the noise never stopped. All kinds of animals plead for someone- or something- to help them. Water was scarce, and dripped down from the roof onto cage bars. Every drop counted. Food was practically nonexistent, and only the bugs flying into the cage served for a meager meal. The smell of death was ever-present.
On a particular day, Ghy stirred. Like many, the now-adult wolf passed his time by sleeping. It helped him forget the constant hunger. But the cruel cabin's door creeped open, and light flowed through. This time, the human was different. She smelled like animals and happiness, but Ghy still didn't trust her.
The human seemed disheartened. "Oh you poor babies!" She cried, rushing over to the cages. "Don't worry, you all are safe now. Those terrible poachers have been caught."
Ghy didn't know what she was talking about, but he was happy he was leaving the wretched place.
The animal rescue workers rushed around like bees near a hive, loading the weak and injured animals into various vehicles. Ghy only caught a glance of the alpha female of his original pack, who was weak and feeble, before being loaded into a van.
He was taken to the rescue center. He was given food and water, and healed an ample amount. He had a small run, and slowly grew stronger. But Ghy's restlessness hadn't ceased. He felt trapped. Caged. These humans fed him and gave him water, but he was not satisfied. He needed to be free.
One particular day, the animal rescue humans had boarded him onto a plane. They said he was going to a Wolf Conservation Center in Australia. Ghy didn't understand these words or why he was on a plane, but it freaked him out. The wolf panicked and thrashed in the cage. Humans couldn't be trusted, not in his mind. Upon landing, they set him down to check on him.
"Poor guy, he's all freaked out."
Another thing about humans. They knew his name. How? They didn't even speak wolf. But it was always, "Poor Ghy!" or "Look at the Ghy go!" He was unaware that they didn't know his name, but rather, just called him a guy because they didn't know his name. Still, it sounded all the same to the panic-ridden wolf.
He wouldn't stand for this. The human went to open his cage and probably offer a treat to calm him down like she always did. But he could smell the sea, and the hot air kept him on edge. He knew he wasn't in Montana, but surely, being free in a foreign land was better than being kept contained by humans.
Ghy bolted. His legs carried him far, and fast too. He heard the human call after him, and she began to chase, but it was useless. He went crashing through the dense, strange forest, and quickly lost them.
He padded, feeling lost. But it was a freeing feeling. He was lost. Not in the familiar cage. Lost in the odd forest, which kept him free. He wasn't nervous, and Ghy began to curiously sniff around.
Ghy smelled new creatures. Something that smelled like a snake, but bigger. He would learn that was a crocodile after a dangerous encounter. He smelled something like a rat, but rounder. He would learn that was an agouti after catching it. Ghy began to learn new things every day, and felt a sense of euphoria as he ventered further and further into the rainforest each day.
One particular day, a familiar scent tingled his nose. A wolf. No, not just one. Many. He glanced up, a feeling of hope swelling in his chest. He missed having a pack. Perhaps this one would keep him. He ventured into the territory, his hope of acceptance outweighing the fear of attack.
While exploring the territory, he spotted a brass-colored wolf. Ghy cautiously approached, and took a closer look at the wolf. Though his muzzle was gray and his age apparent, his olive eyes sparkled alertly. The wind blew his owl talon necklace gently, and he sized the young adult wolf up.
"Who are you?" The elderly wolf said simply.
"I'm Ghy." He replied in a friendly manner. "It's a pleasure to meet you. It's been so long since I've seen another wolf!"
The brass wolf seemed to calm down, and he relaxed. "The pleasure is mine, young one. I understand the lack of new wolves." He paused, then let out a laugh. "The rainforest isn't exactly a natural habitat."
"That's what this place is called?" Ghy grinned. "I was wondering where the elk were."
The elderly wolf nodded. "If you are hungry, you are welcome to come to the Kohana Pack's densite. We still don't have elk, but we have enough to share with one hungry soul."
Ghy's eyes lit up. "Thank you so much! I'd love to go to your pack's densite. What can I call you, sir?"
"Takara." He replied, before trotting quickly along a worn path covered in various kinds of undergrowth. "If you want to come, I suggest you follow me. Just because I'm old doesn't mean I'm slow."
Realizing how far ahead of him Takara was, Ghy bounded over.
As time passed on, Ghy found what he had wanted. A pack and a home. During this time, he grew close with Takara's younger daughter, Delja. The two were very close, and Ghy proved himself to be reliable more than once, despite her independent nature.
"What are you doing?" Ghy asked, watching Delja pounce among the waves.
"I'm going fishing." She said simply, but her blue eyes were shining.
"Do you need some help?" He offered, after seeing her miss yet another fish.
"I'm fine." Delja replied, shrugging. She went back to focusing on a fish, when Ghy noticed a flash of green in the water. Quickly, he pulled his mate by the scruff from the water. A wave crashed on them, and the pair laughed.
"What was that for?" Delja said, though more amused than mad.
"There was a crocodile in the water!" Ghy replied, gesturing to the large reptile.
Indeed there was. He snapped up the fish Delja had been watching, gave the duo an odd look, and slunk back into the ocean. The she-wolf let out a sigh of relief, and the duo headed back to the dens. The two later became mates, despite their different personalities.
Upon Takara's passing, Delja took her place as Alphess. If he hadn't been helpful before, Ghy was more than helpful now. Eventually, the pair had a single son, Kuparr. Ghy proved to be quite a good father, and it was obvious he enjoyed being one too.
