Hygeia

Named after the fourth-largest asteroid in the Solar System. It is characterised as being both nearly spherical and reaching hydrostatic equilibrium, which doesn't quite brand it as a dwarf planet. 

Hygeia was a part of the first generation of the pack, arriving late spring during the pack's first orbit. Soon after arriving, she had shown a proficiency and enthusiasm for flora and medicine, and took residence as the Sagittarius Pack's first herbalist. She fulfilled her duties with a passion, often scouring the territory for herbs for hours at a time without resting.

However, despite her intelligence, she was renowned by many as being incredibly naïve and gullible. Once, Biela joked that she might be allergic to snow, to which Hygeia grew increasingly concerned and frantically tried to find shelter for the other wolf. Naturally, she didn't get along well with Catalina, who was dishonest by nature and, on many occasions, had faked being ill to get a break from pupsitting. Needless to say, after many pointless checkups and wasted herbs, Hygeia learned to take everything she said with a grain of salt.

Her and Biela were very close, the latter wolf seemingly attaching herself to Hygeia's side ever since she discovered her overly-trusting personality. Biela often took the pups to Hygeia's corner in The Heliosphere, allowing the herbalist to educate the future generation about the medicinal qualities of various herbs. Her fervor occasionally morphed her lessons into excited, intangible rambling, leaving the pups more confused than informed. Only Pallas was able to follow along, most of the time with a wide grin and a delighted glint in her eyes. 

As she grew older, she took up Betelgeuse's offer as a stud, to allow her blood to run through the pack after she passed. Hygeia birthed three pups, though only one stayed with the pack -- Antares. She loved her son dearly, and lived long enough to see him become a hunter for the pack. When she grew too weak to harvest for herbs herself, Antares would search the territory while out hunting, bringing back herbs for her. He would seldom leave her side, leaving to hunt only out of necessity.

Hygeia utilised her remaining days to teach Pallas, a pupsitter at the time, all she knew about herbalism. Pallas would bring the pups to Hygeia's corner, letting the pups bother the scouts -- Betelgeuse and Crommelin -- for stories while she learned. Hygeia made Pallas promise to look after the pack when she was gone, and to keep everyone healthy. Pallas, of course, agreed.

Hygeia passed away early spring, holding on past the brutality of winter. She was placed at the clearing on the top of The Bow, where herbs were weaved about her body and the pack members recounted bittersweet memories. Vesta, using the vestiges of her power, then set Hygeia's body ablaze, and the Sagittarius Pack howled for her, guiding her spirit to the stars as the sparks and ash flew upwards. It is said that she now looks down upon the Sagittarius Pack at night, ensuring that her family is safe.
