The Elders tell how Runa found a couple of Cnitharian pups wandering lost near the den. She doesn't know how they followed her home, but called Magpie to her to tend the pups. Each night now they all go into the Dreamlands attempting to reunite the pups with their own pack. No luck so far.
Runa is growing more concerned at their futile attempts and how Magpie has changed. She seems to be absorbing Dreamlands magic on their trips.

Now Basalt has chosen Marshlights to tend the Cnitharian pups. He knows it will change her over time. He saw the changes in Deepwater as he grew up under Sorcha's leadership. But the pups don't seem to age normally outside of the Dreamlands & they must be cared for until their own pack can be located. Maybe tonight will be the night.
