Zakiita
Bringer of Zephers and Blizzards
Long ago, a small pup, a dark brown one, like the color of the earth in a damp, mossy forest, or the brown of dark evergreen tree trunks in the winter, wandered out of her pack. She got reasonably far, for a small pup, however she was foolish. Foolishly determined. She stepped on a rotted branch, and fell into the river below the tree limb. The water was freezing, as it was the middle of winter. Her yelps and yowls were drowned out by the loud crashing of the river, and she was swept away in its current. She awoke a day later in a strange place. She was surrounded by tall trees, and it was warm, no, humid, and there were bright flowers, nothing like the daisy and heather she had in her mountain home. She looked up, seeing a pink wolf, very similar to the flowers around her, walking up to the pup. The pink wolf sniffed at the pup, and decided she wasn't a threat, and she started to walk away. Her head turned, beckoning the pup to follow. So, the young wolf followed her.
Growing up in WindStar, Zakiita didn't really like the pack customs, she wanted to change them, she didn't even like the pack name. She still loyally followed Hibiscus, as she was the one who'd adopted Zakiita. However, the young wolf did often find herself in mischief, which had annoyed most of the pack members, however the eldest of the pack, including Hibiscus, were reminded of the first alpha whenever Zakiita played a prank, causing her to be a favorite of the elders. Zakiita had ambitions, and the confidence to see them through. Like her friend, Arrow, she wanted to be alpha, but she didn't want Hibiscus to die. Arrow was similar to her, he had ambitions, dreams, hopes and goals, which Hibiscus found worrisome, and she found him as a threat. One night, Zakiita heard growls, and she peeked outside to see Hibiscus standing over Arrow, her ears flattened. Zakiita heard her mother tell Arrow to leave, and to never come back. Arrow looked over to her, and made painful eye contact before he got up, his tail tucked between his legs, and he walked away. Zakiita's heart broke. She had lost her best friend, and to her mother no less. Zakiita felt betrayed. Hibiscus knew how much she cared for Arrow, why would she chase him from the pack? And when they were so young too.. In that moment, the young wolf wished that Hibiscus would just go away. A week later, she got her wish. When Hibiscus went out hunting one day, she ran into a bear, the strongest and most powerful of them, and she never came back. Her hunting partner and mate, Cosmos, went with her, and he came back with the terrible news. The entire pack was devastated, but they needed a leader, and Hibiscus had said that she wanted Zakiita to take the role of alpha. Zakiita had no time to suffer grief, she had too much to do. She called for the elders to help her, and she changed the laws and customs of the pack, and even moved the pack hundreds of miles to the taiga. She made it harder for small pups to wander off, and gave them greater protection, like she should have had when she was one. She changed the name, made her own council, and in that council, she included her best friend, Lemonade Sundae, although the two were polar opposites. She makes sure to keep the pack happy and well fed, and she encourages exploration, as long as it isn't dangerous.
Personality, doubts, and likes/dislikes
Zakiita is a confident, sarcastic, ambitious, and observant wolf. She can hold grudges for a while, but she accepts apologies easily, which other wolves think they can take advantage of. She's strong, both mentally and physically, and her heart is a powerful one. She's a tough and resilient wolf, which mirrors the place in which she was born, and where she and her pack lives now.
Ever since her adoptive mothers death, Zakiita has felt animosity towards Cosmos, she believes he could have helped Hibiscus, and then she wouldn't be dead. However she still values his opinion, therefore allowing him to have a place at the council.
She hasn't told anyone, since she doesn't want to stir up pack drama, but she suspects Cosmos of murdering her mother. Which she doesn't understand. Why would he kill her? He doesn't even like Zakiita, and he's too old to be alpha. Is he working with someone in the pack?
Zakiita worries that she isn't a good leader for the pack, or that perhaps she can sometimes be too ambitious.
Arrow of the Tribe of the Misty Woods
Zakiita walked into the sunlit grove, her brown pelt shining with hints of gold whenever she moved into the speckled sunlight. She was currently hunting a reasonably sized weasel, and she was quite attentive and absorbed in doing so. Because of this, she didn't hear the other wolf. Similar to her, he had a brown pelt, although it had a bit more silver sheen to it than she did. Zakiita could only assume he had been hunting the same weasel, because he pounced on the spot she was about to. "Hey!" She growled, her fur prickling. "What are you doing here? You know this isn't your territory, right? And you're much to close to mine at the moment, so leave." Her azure eyes narrowed at this wolf, who, was handsome, she had to admit. He stalked towards her, his lip curling with a snarl. "It's no one's territory. This is classified as a hunting ground." Oh well. Looks aren't everything, she supposed. He stood over her with a snarl, but she stood tall, her tail raised with an airy confidence as she replied, her tone sounding just a bit antagonizing. "Is it? Prey is so scarce these days. I hardly have enough to feed my pack. And with you continuing to scare the prey away with those hideous hunting tactics it'll end up killing us both." She smirked, her ears perking up with assertiveness. Or rather, nerve. "I am NOT a hideous hunter. You're the one tramping about. Sucks, doesn't it, not having food for your pack." He grinned, and she felt her chest tighten with anger. Teasing was one thing, insulting her hunting skills was another. She growled lowly. "I'm sure you'd know what that's like." Zakiita responded with a flick of her ear. Now he seemed annoyed. The strange wolf growled lowly. "When I was a pup that's how it was. Imagine having getting kicked out of your pack for being too ambitious and then having to survive months with nothing." His eyes glazed over for a second. Probably remembering those times. Zakiita realized. Just then, she remembered, when she was a pup, she had a best friend. He was also kicked out of the pack for being too ambitious. Her own mother had banished him from the pack, Zakiita recalled this particular part with a disgusted look. "That pack.. It wasn't possibly called.. WindStar, was it?" The she-wolf said slowly. She watched him as he pinned his ears back. "Yes actually, are you from there?" He huffed angrily, and she could swear she saw a bit of worry in his eyes at the prospect of her saying yes. She couldn't help but feel angry at him for insulting her pack." Puffing out her chest indignantly she replied, "I am. Although.. I have to agree. The last alpha.. she didn't lead so well. She was…" Zakiita wanted to finish with weak, but she didn't. After all, it was her own mother she was talking about. His eyes narrowed as he stepped back, and he cautiously sniffed the air. "What's your name?" He asked, his eyes glaring piercingly into hers. She gave him the same look, although hers was a bit more mocking. "Zakiita. The alpha of Pinefrost Grove." She said this in a prideful tone. "I changed the name, changed everything, really." There was something. Ugh, something about him was familiar. His piercing eyes, his coat. "What's yours?" His eyes widened. "It's me, Arrow. Alpha of The Tribe Of The Misty Woods," he stepped forward welcomingly, a smile now on his face. Of course! Arrow, that's who she was remembering! "Arrow! It's you!" She barked happily, "You're so different! I didn't recognize you! You survived!" "Yes! It's been so long! Where is your pack located?!" Zakiita grinned. "I moved everything to the taiga, and out of that miserable humid rainforest. I changed everything. Just like we said we were going to do. What about you? What happened after Hibiscus.." Zakiita cringed, now feeling slightly ashamed of her mother. "After she banished you? Her plan obviously didn't work." She said this last bit with a tone of admiration as she looked him up and down. Arrow snapped a short laugh, "yeah, I was on my own for a while them discovered this pack. The current leader was pure evil if I do say so myself!" He looked away "Anyways, I soon became leader when I turned a year! She died of- natural causes." He looked at her face, she was just the same as the day he left her… Very proud and beautiful. He smiled and wagged his tail. "So.. Did you meet anyone?" She said slyly, smirking at him. He shook his head. "Pfft, nope, you?" Zakiita looked into the forest, seeming distant. "Yeah.. A wolf named Po. Hibiscus arranged it." Her snout crunched but she quickly smoothed it over and she shrugged. "It is what it is." Arrow made a face, "Isn't that unfair in the slightest?" Zakiita shrugged again. "I suppose since I should change everything else, I should at least keep one thing the way she wanted it. Besides, she really valued this." Arrow grumbled. "Who cares what hibiscus wanted?" Zakiita looked at him. "She isn't my favorite either, and you have more reason to dislike her than I, but she was my mother, whether I liked it or not." He nodded and sighed, "I should be getting back to my pack, I say we meet up again tomorrow..?" Arrow gazed at her hopefully. Zakiita smiled, "Of course. I'm… I'm so happy to have found you again."

Relationship Drama
Zakiita has always had a crush on Arrow, since their puphood. But the picture changed when Flint came into the pack. He was flirty, charming, and she cared for him, despite acting like she didn't. But for her, at least, it's complicated. Flint and Arrow have a lot in common, but Arrow has a thing with Cedar, a slightly annoying wolf from his pack. Cedar is quite obviously in love with him, and he seems to care for her. Zakiita knows she has duties to her pack, and besides, her loving Arrow is illegal by wolf law. Maybe if Hibiscus hadn't messed everything up, things would have been different.
Zakiita had been watching the herbalist work as she made a poultice, when the she-wolf heard a bark in the main clearing. She stepped out of the herbalists den and saw Arrow, who was snarling as he looked around. "Who did it?!" He growled as Zakiita stepped forward. "Did what? Is everything okay?" She advanced another step, but Arrow stepped back, shooting her a distrustful glare. "One of your packmates killed Valhalla!" He straightened, eyeing everyone surrounding the clearing. Zakiita instantly looked at Ember, and the red/orange wolf shifted, looking, in her opinion, very guilty indeed. 'I told the council Ember had a high possibility of getting us into trouble, and look at the mess we're in now.' She thought, narrowing her eyes at him before she looked back at Arrow. Before she could say anything, however, he growled. "I swear to Voldrak, you better tell me who did this." With those final words, Arrow stalked off, back into the forest.
