Stormsky was a charming little girl who liked to make friends and use her charm to get everyone to like her. The more friends she had around her, the more charming she seemed to be. But her pupsitter Squirrelpelt thought that maybe she did all that friend-making because she was afraid to be alone. She encouraged Storm to practice staying in the nursery alone while the other pups went out to play, not to punish her, but for her own good. Her strength and agility would make her a good scout, once she conquered her fear.

At the Academy, Storm studied smarts and wisdom with most of her siblings. She also took a hiding lesson and that was her favorite one. Being alone had always made her anxious before, but hiding and trying not to be found was exciting in a good way. Maybe being alone wasn't so bad after all. It could even be fun.

During her apprenticeship, Storm traveled all over the lands with her mother and aunt, figuring out what scouting was really about. And it wasn't what she expected. All she had known about scouting as a puppy was the long hours and days that the scouts had to be away. She thought they must spend all that time alone. But once she was actually out there, she realized how much social interaction was really involved. A scout's job also includes maintaining relationships with other packs and groups all over the lands and getting information from them. Storm's ability to make friends was a valuable skill for scouting and learning that made her excited for her future.

Now as an adult, Storm's charm has become an asset to the Pack with all the information it allows her to gather. From the moment she received her cloak, Storm began to make more friends. She cultivated relationships with neighbors who had been skittish of a stronger pack and made connections with packs who historically had rejected contact with anyone. Some older pack members believe that Storm may be the greatest scout the Pack ever had. But she doesn't dwell on such things. She's just happy to go out and talk to her friends.
