Biography
Twilight whimpered as she approached her dying mother, nuzzling her neck feebly. "Mom-" she sobbed. "You can't leave me. It's not time yet." She turned her head away as uncontrollable sobs wracked her body. "I don't want to lose you."
Dakota smiled wearily as she gazed at her daughter. "Twilight...There is something you should know about life; something I should've told you a long time ago." She sighed, looking to her mate for support. Soren rose slowly to his paws and stood next to his daughter.
"Sweetie...When your mother and I are gone, you're going to have to lead the pack. You and Azzy, of course..."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No amount of therapy sessions or parental lectures could prepare Twilight for this.
Her father was dead.
He did not live in the stars, or the trees, or the grass, or the pack, or her heart. She'd heard that one many times. He lives on within you. But, Twilight knew better. When someone died, they died. Her father was gone from this world and would never return. If there was even the slightest chance of him coming back, then why did she see her mother's shattered heart each day?
She wanted to scream at anyone who told her otherwise. They didn't understand. They would get to sleep next to their parents that night.
She did not.
