Integrated into the Wastelanders pack in Fall of Year 4. Under the jurisdiction of Lead Wolf Sandor, Gren is one of three transients from a disbanded pack to join the Wastelanders. "That bold female Sandor chooses to call a mate had better watch her pace near my muzzle. No, I do not think what Sandor did will cause any long-term harm to his pup, other than his now defunct eye. Did you know, in our old pack, I knew a she-wolf who led herself blind, every day, to a stinking pit to cover herself in mud to keep the ticks away? Her face was marred to the point of no recognition, nearly a skull on two shoulders...I could hear her teeth chatter any time there was a cold wind, and her pelt, when not thick with mud, was hard and bristled like a porcupine...Our own leader had done that to her. She had attempted to disband from his pack, and in return, he met her at his borders with a handful of his cronies...I remember the sour pit that formed in my stomach as I listened to her howls, the squeals of agony. That is how our pack had always been...We turned a blind eye to it all-- the pain, the misery. When Ondar finally died, that cruel pig, the pack disbanded...We all went separate ways as though none of it had happened at all. Sandor is a grace among wolves...He might as well be a saint. Fle and her pup should be grateful he didn't lose more than just his eye."

"Kils had best keep his muzzle shut before I shut it for him! Great Sun, he speaks when he knows he shouldn't! I should expect no less from a wolf who has gone soft...Kils used to be a killer, a murderer. He was a beast that could not be stopped, an unrelenting force like myself. I would blame Fahren for his weakness...But she is not the cause. I am not sure what made him this way...But, after our disagreement today, I fail to look at him the same. Lead Wolf Sandor is making a very wise decision in allying with the Winged Keepers. What Kils fails to understand, is that allying with any pack will be beneficial to ours! Especially one run by such young wolves...Unless he has forgotten, how easily convinced they are in their naivety?"
