Biography
"Poetry is an orphan of silence."
Icepatch has been in the pack for a long, long time. She was present when Amarok was leader, a young pup at the time. She wasn't born into the pack, no one actually knows where she came from. She was found a little way away from the lake that runs close to the pack's home, curled next to the gentle lapping waves of the water along the shoreline.
When she was found, she was asked where her parents were. "I don't know, they told me they would be back, but that was a long time ago..." The little pup had said. It was decided then that the pup would join their new, growing pack.
Although she didn't have an adoptive parent in the pack, she was watched over by all of them. She stayed in the nursery and slept, cuddled with other pups and their mothers, fitting right in and being treated like one of their own.
As Icepatch got older, it wasn't hard to figure out what she wanted to do. She wanted to stay in the pupsitter den, being a primary caretaker for little pups, no matter who they were. She wanted to take care of all of them, treat them as her own as she was treated by the pack when she was a small pup. So that's what she did.
She rarely had pups of her own and never took a mate, preferring to focus on taking care of the little pack members. Even as she grows old, she loves her role and never got tired of it. Icepatch was just glad to give back what she was given. There was always times when she wondered what happened to her biological family, but she has never regretted not meeting them or finding out what happened. She has a family with her pack, after all.
She knows she grows old, her bones weaker and her mind slower, but Icepatch knows she's never wasted a second of her time in this life. She's forever grateful about her time within the pack, taken in and raised from a pup into a dependable, knowledgeable pupsitter. As her muzzle greys, she knows her pack will be taken care of, even when she starts her run among the stars.
