Ari wandered into the Dreamlands at a very young age. While they were there the adults of the pack were searching everywhere for them. They turned up a few days later when the search seemed pointless. But they were changed, they had a scar running down their face, and their fur had turned black and blue. But what was most intriguing, was the pure white star on their forehead that was not there before, Lunara's Blessing.

Time passes and the pack sees that Ari has started to speak to a little black cloud that had been with them when they returned. Upon inspection, they saw the cloud was a shadow creature, and they were shocked. No wolf had ever been able to speak with the creatures, let alone not be attacked.

Nightmare, the alpha before Ari asked Vǫrðr the dragon what this meant, but he could not provide a response. Only that the Dreamlands are where the Shadows originated from, and not even he knew the full extent of what they are.
