Biography
Second born of two pups. Even sex distribution.

Ioa was no more observant than her parent, Iza. She could hardly do more than sit still during lectures. With practical, paws-on lessons she would rather play - learn her way. Ioa was vibrating with the desire to get out there and experience all she could on her own.
She had no problem trying to listen to her elders, and she certainly adored Quick Claws "the old grouch," but this did not mean she gave up her dream to see the horizons. Felicity was fond of her too, and had the expectation Ioa would grow to be a fine she-wolf. Unfortunately for Ioa, seniority had always played a key part in Snow Hearts.
Due to the need to keep some wolves back to watch newborns, Ioa grew to envy Enigma. She still went out to the Far Edges, returning only to report to their leader. Enigma was two years her senior, thus it was a given. Ioa felt a passionate rivalry toward the glassy-eyed bluestruck wolf nonetheless.
Ioa was not surprised to be offered leadership of Snow Hearts. Soft-spoken Enigma was not an ambitious wolf. Besides, as she mentioned, she was getting on, whatever that meant. Ioa quickly grew to adore the need to fend off other creatures. She found she could best them in a duel; afterwards, sometimes they shared a moment as if they were part of some brief club.
As Enigma reached her twilight stage, it became clear to Ioa she had much more to envy than simple duties. Enigma was quietly self-sacrificing, not ever asking for more. She attracted the attention of Char, one of Quick Claw's first teachlings and Ioa's idol. They had a deep relationship forged of loss and understanding.
Ioa found such a bond difficult to acquire. Indeed, it was not something to be obtained at all. She meant to recall howl day anniversaries, but found herself relying upon pup-sets and general increase in merriment to clue herself in to the coming festivities. The brevity of brief interactions whilst patrolling meant she need not fear such a position. 'Did I not remember? Am I a tail for not?'
Like Felicity, Ioa had supporters. She consistently mistook their admiration as a distant feeling, instead of platonic and sincere adoration. Cali and Tensi tried to break through to Ioa; Stormbolt was stymied. For the longest time, Ioa truly counted only Friend as an ally. The situation expended much effort, patience, and time, but was well worth it in the end.
